We got a great price on the car. The initial transaction was smooth, but we encountered problems after the sale. This dealer apparently does not feel it was necessary to verbally disclose dents and problem was smooth, but we encountered problems after the sale. After the purchase, I found a significant dent on the lift gate, I was basically told that it was my problem. They referred to internet pictures they displayed, and acted like that was adequate disclosure. I do not blame the Salesman, I don't believe he knew the dent was there, but seemed unable to remedy the situation. The last thing you want to do after buying a 30+K car is to have to go to bodyshops to fix issues you did not know existed. Autobarn has agreed to send missing accessories with the car (missing CD cartridge). The General Manager did get in contact with us, but after review believed they had done everything possible to accomodate us. The sad thing is they destroyed all their customer goodwill/loyalty over $150 dollar dent. I'll fix the dent, but I won't be doing any more business with Volkswagen Autobarn. More
I would like to start out by saying that the service that I received at the Autobarn from Vic and Romone was top notch to say the least. I have been to several other VW dealers in the area and none of them c I received at the Autobarn from Vic and Romone was top notch to say the least. I have been to several other VW dealers in the area and none of them could compare with the world class service that I received at the Autobarn. Starting with my sales consultant Romone, who gave me a world class product presentation, all the way through working out a price with Vic, I had no complaints. Romone's knowledge of not just the Jetta that I bought, but of Volkswagen as a whole is astounding. I did not expect him to give me a full run through of my Jetta after purchased and I would definitely tell anyone who is looking for a world class salesmen should ask for him. When it came down to price, Romone understood that I had been to other dealers and assured me that they wouldn't give me the "Run-Around" and the price reflected it. Vic came out after we wrapped things up and was very pleasant and welcoming. I really feel like he was very sincere and cared about me. They didn't look at me like I was just another sale, but wanted to make me part of the Autobarn family. I will definitely tell all of my friends and family to get their next cars from Vic and Romone. My family has owned 40+ cars from an assortment of manufacturers, and by far Autobarn VW has been one of the best experiences so far. I am very satisfied with the customer service that the Mt. Prospect Autobarn was able to provide me. I went in for an oil change in early January of this year. The service consultant that helped me out Mt. Prospect Autobarn was able to provide me. I went in for an oil change in early January of this year. The service consultant that helped me out that time, John Paul, pulled out some paperwork and told me that my car was one of the cars for the DSG Mechatronic recall. Two weeks later I returned to get my Mechatronic replaced for a new one. Ever since that new mechatronic was put in, the car drove worse than it did with the old unit. A lot of jerking, stuttering, hesitation, and lurching occured. Driving the car in the city during rush hour was a hassle, because a lot of the time when letting go of the brake the car jerked forward really hard, and at times almost felt like it was about to stall. In mid February I was driving and was near the dealership, so I decided to stop by. I went inside and told xx what I have been experiencing. I asked if someone could get in the car with me for a quick drive around the parking lot, just so I could show them what it's doing. xx called Bill Dolan over, and Bill got in the car with me. Sure enough, the second I reversed out of the parking spot and put the car in D, the car jerked forward really hard and felt like it almost stalled. Bill agreed that, while the DSG transmission is supposed to have a little bit of jerkiness to it; this was way too much. I gave him my cell phone number; because he said that he will call VW to investigate the issue, and will call me back when he gets some answers. 3 days later I get a phone call from Bill; Vw confirmed that the mechatronic I received was faulty from the factory, and another unit was ordered. The following Friday I went back to the dealership once more. The second unit was put in. Afterward when they were finished; I took the car around the parking lot once more, making frequent stops. The jerking and hesitation was gone! The car drives like a dream now. I will definately be coming back to the Mt. Prospect Autobarn for all my Vw needs. So once again thanks guys for excellent customer service!! More

The service consultant I worked with, Wojciech, was professional and interested in making sure the car repairs necessary were done in a cost effective manner. Safety was foremost in his thoughts. His advice regarding service/maintenance emphasized the fact that being 'penny wise and pound foolish' can backfire--more damage incurred and a higher price tag comes with putting off for tomorrow what absolutely needs to be done today..
