I purchased my car used, with 14k miles on it with the extended warranty, about 3 years ago. Who wants to pay for repairs while you are making car payments, right? Anyway 3 years later and my first 'check engine light' comes on. I brought the car into their Evanston location, they let me know I did not have a warranty. I spoke with vwcredit, and vw, but was no closer to finding what had happened to my warranty. Finally somebody put me in touch with Jay Scott in Mt Prospect, who I feel went above and beyond by digging up my 3+ year old paperwork and finding the simple clerical error that caused my extended warranty not to show up. Everyone makes mistakes, but instead of giving me the same rhetoric that vw and vwcredit gave me, Jay actually went the extra mile and found the hard copies. No easy feat i'm sure due to how old they were. The entire autobarn family was very patient with me even though I was obviously frustrated, and I feel they really went the extra mile to help ensure I continue to have quality service, even 3 years after my purchase. More

I've owned new VW cars purchased through the Autobarn since 2002. During that entire time, I've received exceptional customer service with integrity. I set my appointment two days prior. I knew I needed a loaner based on the work that likely would be done. And 10 minutes prior to my arrival, I called him and asked if the loaner would be ready to go when I got there. I had a meeting at work and couldn't stay to wait. xx had the car ready and my quick check-in for the work was seamless. Thanks, xx. More
I bought my first Jetta from the Autobarn in Mount Prospect in 2001. I've always had great service at the Autobarn. Yesterday my current Jetta needed an oil change so I decided to try their new Servic Prospect in 2001. I've always had great service at the Autobarn. Yesterday my current Jetta needed an oil change so I decided to try their new Service Express (no appointment needed) and was more than satisfied. Phil helped me and was both friendly and efficient. The work was completed in less than 30 minutes, including the oil change, checking the car's vital signs (always done with any service), and washing it. Ironically, when I got home I found an email with a discount coupon for an oil change at the Autobarn's Service Express. I mentioned this coincidence in my email service evaluation for the Autobarn, and within minutes the manager (Bill Dolan) responded, assuring me that the coupon would be honored for my next oil change, even though that's likely to occur after the coupon's expiration date. I love the Autobarn! I just started my third lease with this dealership today. The sales staff is knowledgable and friendly. I was impressed by Autobarn of Mt. Prospect when I bought a car there a year and a half ago. The salesman, Slavey Kukov was professional, accommodating, and low pressure. My car had a scratch on the instrument housing when new and the entire assembly was replaced with no rattles or damage to the interior. The car has had no other issues and Autobarn has done all my routine maintenance perfectly. On my most recent visit for an oil change, I had a great conversation with the service representative, Wojciech. He is clearly a VW enthusiast like myself, and we talked about GTIs and a stage one upgrade to increase performance. You won't regret buying a VW or having yours serviced at this dealer. More
I live in the Chicago area but am currently working in Springfield,IL. I usually drive the half hour to Mt Prospect where I bought the car to get the oil changed. Since I've been in Springfield the last few months I've had to take my car to the local VW dealership to get my oil changed. The first time I stopped in I was told that all the techs were gone on lunch and to come back later. The second time I got right in, but it took a couple of hours for my oil change to be completed. Both times the service writer was pretty rude and just not a friendly person to deal with at all. This experience made me realize how good of a job the staff did at the Mt Prospect VW. I've dealt with John Paul almost since the first oil change and I just cant say enough for the job John does. He's always friendly! He always has time to answers any of my questions! And when he says "you're most welcome", I believe him. I actually believe this guy enjoys what he does, and cares about his customers. I am not at all happy with the way i was lied to during this transaction, i was told that the misting was part of the pre owned certification, and its not. i was told that pre owned certified cars don't co this transaction, i was told that the misting was part of the pre owned certification, and its not. i was told that pre owned certified cars don't come with two keys, which they are supposed to. i have a 22 1/2" spare, but i have 25 1/4" tires on the car, and V.W. told me it should be the same size. and have two keys per certification. so if its supposed two have two keys why would i even have been trying to get a another at dealers cost. How i want this resolved is for auto barn to do whats just and fare, by setting it up with a dealer near me. to receive a second key which is owed to me and programed , plus replacing the spare with the right one, and payment for my time and travel to go and have these things taken care of. absolutely free. i was also told that the car was free of any dents or scratches, which it was not. so with all the lies how am to believe that you did any misting on the vent system, or for that matter any of the required 121 point inspection. the oil is even dirty. i better check the air filter. I will be contacting the BBB, to report this and an attorney if these matters aren't resolved, i can not believe the way we have been taking advantage of. kevin More

I been servicing my two VW in Mt. Prospect for 10 years and John Paul, in service, he is always give the best smile, suggestions, support and advices. In 2008 my alternator broke down at 4am in the middle of January when in my way to work; outside was -20 and I could't find the info's for the towing company so I decide to call John Paul cellular phone and guess what? He did answer is phone and give me all the infos that I need to get help! Also few times I was in need of fix my car and just walk in the store and John Paul never refused to take in care of my car and also let me use his personal car to go back to work or taking my kids for ice cream so they will not driving us crazy with the usual "Are we done yet? Can we go home now? " More
