The dealer that we worked with was trying to be Superman and do 100 things at once when he should have taken the proper, professional amount of time with each customer. We were at this dealership for OVER 4 HOURS. The last time I bought a car, I was in and out of the dealership in less than half that time. When we came into Santa Monica Vaolkswagon I already knew the make, model, year, options and color of the car I wanted. What should have been a pleasant and efficent experience turned into a total nightmare. Customer service is just apparantly nonexistent at this dealer. More

I made several phone calls to different VW dealerships and Ray A. from Santa Monica VW was able to get me the car I wanted at the price I was willing to pay. I did have to pull some teeth, however. I guess because I was a girl, they were hoping to get as much money as they can from me. Always do your research and never jump to buy a car at the first dealership you go to! I did my research by looking up the invoice price of the vehicle and calling all the local dealerships for a quote. At the time, there was a promo of 1.9% and yet I was given 3.9%! I had a credit score well above 700 and they still said that I was not eligible for the 1.9%!! I called the finance manager and he said that he wasn't the associate assisting me at the time so he couldn't help me. When I asked to be transferred to the associate, he said she will be out the entire week. How convenient! At this time, I'm not even asking to have them reduce the 3.9 to 1.9. I'm going to refinance with a credit union at 2.99. Even if they offered the 1.9 to me, I would not take it. I don't want to give them anymore interest than they deserve! Overall, if I decide to purchase a VW in the future, I'm going to ask the sales and finance manager to leave me a voicemail guaranteeing the purchase price and the interest rate so there will be no surprise changes when I purchase the car. You should do the same too if you're seeking to purchase a car from any dealerships! That is where they get their notorious AKA of stealership. More
