Been to this dealership many times checking out new models. Several weeks ago Claire Skinner introduced me to Mark Shapiro. At that time, Mark and I had a long, interesting discussion about the histo models. Several weeks ago Claire Skinner introduced me to Mark Shapiro. At that time, Mark and I had a long, interesting discussion about the history of the GTI ( I have the original MarkII model ). Mark suggested that I make an appointment for a test drive in the TDI. When I came to a decision about buying a new car, I made the appointment with Mark. After a nice (but somewhat bland) drive in a new Golf TDI with an automatic transmission, Mark spotted a recently traded 2012 TDI manual transmission model. We took that out and I immediately bought it --- performance was what I wanted. Mark Shapiro is an outstanding salesman. He is friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and very persuasive. He even convinced me to buy an extended warranty---something I would not normally do. I can think of nothing negative at all about my experience at Santa Monica Volkswagen.
