Mr. Gonzalez, Your public review does not (1) mention our conversation where you asked me not to pursue the service bill and trade in value issues, and (2) your synthetic oil statement is false. Dealer made me pay for service on a trade in before I closed deal on 2014 MDX ALSO contract price for my trade in 2006 TL one thousand less tan agreed Dealer told me I had to use synthetic oil which is not true CHECK MANUAL 2014 MDX AWD We spoke at the dealership many, many months ago about your service bill and the trade in value of your 2006 TL. As you may recall I was getting a bit wound up as I have always appreciated your company and loyalty to Thomas Acura. I told you that I would talk to sales management regarding the service bill as well as the trade in value and what was discussed during negotiation. You asked that I not, and I respectfully did not. I thought that this issue was squashed. I certainly remember telling you that I would ‘make it right’, but you asked me not to. I thought the issues concerning your service bill and trade in value were over. Your review also claims we told you had to use synthetic oil, which is not true (???) according to the manual on a 2014 MDX AWD. The manual states that the recommended engine oil is: Premium-grade 0W-20 detergent oil with an API Certification Seal on the container. Use genuine Acura Motor Oil or another commercial engine oil of suitable viscosity for the ambient temperature as shown. You may also use synthetic motor oil if it is labeled with the API Certification Seal and is the specified viscosity grade. The manual is clear that 0W-20 must be used, and that is what we used as it is recommended by the manufacturer. Your review is incorrect; if we are to use 0W-20 as recommended by the manufacturer and noted several times in your owner’s manual, it must be at minimum synthetic blend, which is what we used, as conventional 0W-20 oil does not exist. All 0W-20 weight oil is either semi-synthetic or full synthetic. The lay person reading your review will conclude that we swindled you on your service bill and trade in value. You neglected to reference your conversation with me regarding this –which you told me not to pursue. The only conclusion I could draw when you told me to ‘drop it’ was that you were not interested in a different outcome… Your charge that we were not truthful with your vehicles synthetic oil requirement is false. We always use the oil recommended by the manufacturer based on the year / make / model / engine / driveline. It is hard for me to comprehend why am I being penalized with a negative review for doing what you asked me to regarding your MDX purchase and following the manufactures recommended oil for your vehicle. I would appreciate either a phone call to discuss (or) updating your review reflecting a more complete story of what transpired (or) removal of your review. Thank you, -Ian L.
