Normally, when I leave a car dealership, I feel as if I need to go home and shower to get rid of my "Buyers Remorse" such as it is. This time my sales rep, Dale Dillman, my trainer ( we both needed instruction) Mike Howard, and even our finance man Darryl Ruble Were so friendly and professional. It was just a pleasant experience all the way through.(even tho we are back up to our ears in debt again, but that's the way of the world nowadays I guess). I have had 2 horrible experiences with Ted Russel Ford. The first was a few years ago, when I went in and there were traveling bankers at the Kingston Pike location that were scamming people. The 2nd experience was just yesterday at the parkside location. I took my 2012 jeep in that is in excellent condition with a payoff of 11K and tried negotiating a trade on a 2013 Ford Escape leftover from last year. The sticker price on the Escape was 28k, but there was a sign at the entrance saying you get $5,000 off. That alone brings the price of the vehicle down to 23k. I asked the sales person up front if I would get $5k of the sticker price for the particular one I was looking at and he told me repeatedly that I would. During negotiations, the story completely changed. With my trade, they still wanted me to finance 25k and that was before taxes. They wouldn't budge so I walked out. The sales guy chased me into the parking lot still trying to make a deal with me by putting me in another vehicle. He was standing at my driver side window still trying to talk to me as I was pulling out of my parking spot to leave. I will take my business to someone who will not try to screw me over. More
I went to Ted Russell and was interested in purchasing 2012 Hyundai Accent GLS. I called them that night and confirmed that I would purchase the car with a sales representative. The next day, I drove to Knoxville to complete the purchase and they told me they had sold the car. They left me waiting in their lobby for 10 minutes and finally told me. They didn't call me to let me know before I wasted my time driving 30 minutes there. It was the most unprofessional car lot I've been to. More
Had my F150 in for a hydralic slave cylinder(clutch) repair. The repair took a full week, cost better than $2k. They claimed also I needed a new starter motor (not true). When I picked up the truck they had reinstalled the gear shift improperly, hand left oily had prints on the driver door, and the check engine light was on. I had to take the truck back to the dealer to get these things corrected. They ended up comping the starter motor and an O2 sensor. Their apology was less than sincere for the incompitent (and overpriced) work they did. More
