Purchasing an new 2019 Outback I am starting this review off by saying that I was so impressed with with Eric that I brought him a variety pack of IPA's that I hand-picked! What demonstrated Eric's professionalism, character, and patience more than anything to me was that on Saturday in pouring rain, after going over paperwork and having the car filled with gas and detailed, moments before the closing of the deal I changed my mind and decided that I didn't want the color that I had first indicated. I told Eric, " We have a slight problem." His response was, 'Ok, no problem what's up?" The time is 6:00 pm when the shop was suppose to close. Without missing a beat, without a hint of frustration, exacerbation, or impatience, he told me let's go find the car that you want. We headed back into his office; he jumped on the computer, located a car with the color I wanted and as close to the price of the original deal as possible- the "new" new car came with a couple of upgrades that he explained and that I was happy to have. He processed the new paper and we headed out to the lot in the deluge. We found the car, but because it was so late-now nearing 7:30 pm and because the car was sandwiched between several other cars and had not had to final check from the service department, Eric told me that I could pick up the car on Monday. I am giving this guy a 10 out of 10 for service, dedication, and for total commitment to the customer. I could not be happier! More

2005 Subaru Legacy Wagon Outback 2.5 XT I purchased this Vehicle new in 2005 from Subaru of Bend. We take extremely good care of our vehicles with adhering to a strict maintenance schedule. I purchased this Vehicle new in 2005 from Subaru of Bend. We take extremely good care of our vehicles with adhering to a strict maintenance schedule. In 2010 our turbo went out, just barely in warranty. Subaru recommended changing our oil to synthetic every 3000 miles instead of 5000, which we did. In 2014 like clock work the turbo went out again and I had to replace out of pocket. In 2018 like clock work the turbo went out again. Our high end service company for our Audi said to salvage the vehicle, as there was metal in the engine. I took it back to Subaru of Bend, where I purchased the vehicle for a second opinion. Service Writer-Dustin Piggott evaluated the turbo and said the car could be repaired for $1800 which would include flushing the engine and replacing the turbo. I told him I needed to get 2-3 years out of the vehicle to justify the repairs. Dustin said he couldn’t guarantee it, but was confident we could get at least 2-3 years. One year, almost to the date, the Turbo failed again. I don’t believe the engine was flushed. Subaru said it was probably due to improper oil changes (which we have record of every 3000 miles) and said the engine would need to be replaced to skirt the issue of the turbo, which was still within the 1 year warranty. Subaru service in Bend, OR is dishonest, specifically Dustin Piggott, who did not return my calls and stand behind our warranty. Subaru of America does not stand behind their vehicles. They offered me $500 discount on a new vehicle. We had three turbo’s fail like clock work every 4 years because of a factory defect. Google it and you will see evidence of the same issue. The engine is designed to NOT deliver enough oil to cool the turbo, leading to inevitably failure. It’s unfortunate because this vehicle served our family well in a cold, snowy environment. I would highly caution to think twice before investing in a company that does not admit fault and stand behind it’s cars. I will never purchase a Subaru again. More

Brought my car in for Takata airbag recall. The staff at Bend Subaru was great. They provided me with a loaner car while my passenger side airbag was being replaced. Poor Service Department Experience Took my new car in for the repair of a broken off antenna. They performed the repair, but it was not satisfactory. It was loose and there was a big gap between it and the top of car. They did not tell me it couldn't be fixed properly when they told me it was ready. When I called to tell them about it, the service technician brushed be off saying I told you it might not fit perfectly, Then I talked to the Service Department Director & he said he'd have to consult with the technician and get back to me. He never called back nor did he return any of my many phone calls. It has been over six weeks now and still no response from them. I thought they were a reputable company & would stand behind their products and service or at least tell me they would or would not do anything about it, but to ignore me is adding insult to injury. They could have referred me to a body shop as was apparently needed. More

True story - I have a friend who lives in the Tahoe area who bought his new car from Subaru of Bend, rather than local dealers, He says that he wouldn’t buy a car from anyone else, no matter where he lives!
