Unbeatable Price and Great Customer Service I went into the dealership looking for a BRZ. The price offered by Subaru Santa Monica was unbeatable compared to the prices offered by other dealers I went into the dealership looking for a BRZ. The price offered by Subaru Santa Monica was unbeatable compared to the prices offered by other dealerships. The performance package offered by Subaru for the BRZ is better than anything Toyota offers for the GT 86. Thanks to the excellent customer service provided by Vance. The only issue I had was it took about a week to obtain my manufacturer certificate of origin. More

I had a very good sales agent Seth who was there to meet all my needs, but unfortunately he can't do anything above his manager Frank. We went through all details on the selected car and agreed on certain amount and we were ready to run credit check only if money amounts were met. He assured us that and he run the check, upon arrival Frank announced different price. I don't think this is proper way of doing business. he new that my credit is good and that I fall into tier 1 group. and he did what all fishy auto sales managers do. Waste of my drive, waste of my 3 hours of my off day in the hot with a baby. More

Void of the usual aggressive, shifty, manipulation that is involved in buying a car, I would actually go as far as saying that it was an extremely pleasant experience. Vance was my main point of contact and I can't recommend him highly enough. His calm, kind demeanor is coupled with oodles of knowledge and experience, and I felt like I was being advised by a well-informed friend rather than a pushy salesman. He was clear and communicative and I have driven away in a car that I am truly in love with. So delighted to be part of the Subaru family. An extended thanks to the whole team (especially Trai who was also super knowledgable and friendly). More

Best car buying experience ever! I came in about 6 months ago to take a look at some Subarus because my car is getting to the 100,000 mile mark. I met Vance Walden, one of the sales people there and he was extremely nice and helpful. We talked about the 3 different models that I had interest in, the outback, forester and crosstrek. He was extremely knowledgeable in all the options each car provided and we talked about the pros and cons of each one. Then he offered to let me drive one. I chose the forester because it was the best fit for my price range and not to big or small, which was important to me because I wanted a vehicle that was comfortable and convenient but not too much of a pain to park because parking can be crazy in LA. After we drove the Forester he suggested that I also drive the turbo version so I could feel the difference in power. So I ended driving both engine options and he even suggested I take it over some bumps to feel the suspension and whip it around some corners to feel how an all wheel drive vehicle handles. Wow! Such an amazing car for the price. I had to get back to work but we exchanged business cards after he had spend almost 2 hours with me. A few days later he called to check in with me but I told him I wasn't quite sure if I was ready to pull the trigger yet because my car still drives great even though it's 10 years old. What's so awesome is he asked my permission if I wouldn't mind if he called back from time to time just to check on me. I thought that was super considerate that he asked my permission first. Needless to say he checked in with me once a month just to see if I was ready to buy yet but never pressured me or hassled me. A few times I didn't pick up he just left a message to say hi and let me know if I was thinking of buying to give him a ring. It wasn't constant harassing phone calls which I've had that experience from other salesmen. After a few months I ended up buying a small house and when he checked in I told him all my money went there and I just wasn't financially able to afford a new car at the moment. He congratulated me on the house and just let me know if I was ever interested again to give him a call. Well my girlfriend was just in need of a new car so I suggested she get a Subaru because we do like to take trips and do outdoors stuff plus her last car was a hatchback which she found extremely convenient. Of course I remembered how patient kind and considerate Vance was so when we went to the dealership I immediately asked for him. He had just gone home for the day but we came back and he remembered me from months prior and asked how my place was going. Anyways he did such a great job taking care of us and got my girlfriend a new forester at almost $3000 below sticker price. I'm so jealous of her car now... If you go to Subaru of Santa Monica, you gotta ask for Vance, such a kind sweet and patient guy and so helpful respectful and worked to get us such an awesome deal. It was a pleasure working with him. When it's time for me to get my Subaru I'll definitely be going back to Vance! More

Unfortunately a Typical Car Dealership I think I have enough experience with this location to detail a fair, representative assessment. I'll get into the specifics of my experiences below, I think I have enough experience with this location to detail a fair, representative assessment. I'll get into the specifics of my experiences below, but overall they're just your standard car dealership - i.e., very friendly "we're you're friend here!" personality that feels slightly condescending before you purchase and then they'll take advantage of any opportunity they can to get more money from you after you purchase. The first thing that made me uncomfortable was how the sales person worked with me to find a price that worked for my budget and then after I signed the contract I learned that the total cost would be $50/month more - a 20% increase in my monthly payment. But hey, they threw in some free misc service so who cares about shady, misleading dealings! The second episode was when they just randomly started calling and emailing me to say that I owed them my first months payment - after I had already made that payment - because the lease was written up incorrectly and they supposedly had to pay my first payment for me. Did I mention that I paid it? My contract clearly showed that my downpayment included the 1st months payment (the money down on the car was my total down payment less the 1st months payment). Five months in and still every payment made is only from me, through my bank account. What's interesting is this still hasn't been settled, I just got a statement in the mail saying they paid it but aren't seeking reimbursement. Which is crazy. I still don't know what the net affect from that is. Will my residual be higher at the end of my lease? Will I have some secret cost tacked on to the end when I go to return it? Still haven't gotten an answer. In order to make up for it they offered me a gas card, but of course they never followed through on it. Awesome! The latest event was when I damaged two tires and had to get them replaced. The first minor experience was when I called the service center in order to know where I should have my car towed to. The service center was closed so I spoke to somehow who told me that I could have the car dropped off but no one knows where the drop box is to put your keys. That's reasonable I guess, but there was just 0 interest in making a few calls to see where the box was. Instead I had to have my car towed to my apartment and then have them tow me again two days later when they opened back up. The real experience was when I called for a quote and was told $410. I then brought my car in and the service dept handed me a service contract for $735. I questioned the discrepancy and was told that the taxes ($1/tire), disposal fees ($3/tire) and other misc stuff weren't quoted but that he'd check with the parts dept. After a brief call I was told that the parts guy had brokered a deal with me - which never happened - and they would honor it. They ended up writing it for $450 instead. And then when I picked my car up it was $461. It just those little things, you know. Why is it so hard to find honest people in the car business? I love my subaru crosstrek; it's easily the best gas car I've ever owned and I'm so glad I made the decision to go with a Subaru, but it appears that even great car companies still have issues with their sales and service people on the ground. I'll be looking for a different dealership to rely on for my maintenance. More
