I purchased an all electric vehicle, the Subaru Solterra, and was assured by the finance guy, Melroy Fernandez, who assured me that there is a federal tax rebate of $7,500. After I purchased it and spoke to my CPA, she checked and the government doesn’t include the Subaru for the Clear Air Act because it was not assembled in the USA. So they outright lied to me. When I attempted to have them do right by me, the manager Joey Boktor had no interest in resolving his employees lies. Even though my office is in SM, I hadn’t purchased my last 2 Subaru’s from this SM dealership because the customer service is so bad since it became LACarGuy. Also, if you can’t charge an EV at home, don’t buy one. It’s super inconvenient waiting hours to charge at a public charging station and then waiting a couple of hours while it charges. Ridiculous! SM Subaru said they were offering $400 in charging credit which they have not provided since I purchased it 3 months ago. There is a new term when taking long trips referred to as “Range Anxiety.” It’s a horrible feeling. More
