Took one year old Dodge Challenger for assessment due to melted plastic rim front section of the car. By the way car is still under warranty. At first I was told it will be replaced and warranty will cover melted plastic rim front section of the car. By the way car is still under warranty. At first I was told it will be replaced and warranty will cover it. Later on same person came back to tell me that his manager got involved and he determined that it will not be replaced. They came up with the idea to tell me that “ maybe someone bumped into my car from the front and used heat to fix rim”. What kind of professional assessment is that. Making assumptions that something like that could have happened. Damage on the plastic looks like, and I am convinced came from sun reflection. It melted plastic on multiple spots. I called Dodge costumer service and was told to try different Dodge services in the area. 3 weeks after there is new burnt plastic spot by one of the front head lights. I am taking car to be assessed someplace else next week. I have tried to look up on the issue myself and found out that there are many cases like this. It has to be some cheap plastic used during Covid to make such a beautiful car. I had 2 Ford cars before Dodge. They have been driven and parked in same places as Dodge, but there was never any issue with plastic rims. Hopefully Dodge Services will replaced it for me. Such a disappointment going to Sansone. They were not pleasant last year either when I was searching for Challenger. Ended up shopping for one in Freehold. More
