Daniel Burawa, our car salesman, was excellent. Answered all our questions and tried to fulfill all our requests. Riverhead Bay Subaru was very quiet and laid back. No hard sell or funny business. What turned me off to Riverhead Bay Subaru is that they're still charging for a full tank of gas (even though the car arrives at the dealership -- from the manufacturer -- already with a full tank of they're still charging for a full tank of gas (even though the car arrives at the dealership -- from the manufacturer -- already with a full tank of gas). I actually bought my previous vehicle at Riverhead Bay Subaru, and they charged me for a full tank of gas at that time. They're still doing that. They're just not telling you until you pick up the car. One Riverhead Bay Subaru salesperson even had the audacity to say to me "If it bothers you about paying for a tank of gas, then maybe you shouldn't be thinking about buying a new car." So -- we eventually bought our new Subaru from another dealership. We even paid a little bit extra for it. This dealership is also charging $59.00 to install your license plate on the front of your car. I don't know of any other dealerships that charge this fee. Not even sure if this is a made up charge or whether it's actually valid. Never really know what to believe from Riverhead Bay Subaru. It sometimes feels like you're being "nickled and dimed" by this dealership. Riverhead Bay Subaru's Service Department is also sometimes very hard to reach. As far as I can tell, they are basically honest, but expensive. $175 just to evaluate your car plus whatever work they do. You also get voice mail most of the time. One Service Department voice mail actually says they'll get back to you when it's convenient for them (Service Manager extension 233). Come on Riverhead Bay Subaru. At least give the impression that the customer comes first. More
Called about purchasing a car top carrier and was told to come in, no appointment needed, and theyd install it for me. I said I'd be there between four and four-thirty and I was there at four-thirty. After come in, no appointment needed, and theyd install it for me. I said I'd be there between four and four-thirty and I was there at four-thirty. After checking in and waiting twenty minutes I was told it was too late, and because I hadn't purchased my vehicle there, I'd have to come back tomorrow. I live forty-five minutes away. I wish they'd told me this when I called earlier. Glad I purchased my Outback at Brattleboro Subaru, They are honest and accommodating consistantly. More
