I bought a new 2009 Legacy here in 2009. The salesperson Alex was friendly and seemed honest, and he did not seem to try any of those tricks that people warn you about. I did purchase an extended warranty, Alex was friendly and seemed honest, and he did not seem to try any of those tricks that people warn you about. I did purchase an extended warranty, at his good recommendation. The only negative would be that he did not let me know that there would be a $100 deductible for any service covered under that warranty. And buying a car for the first time, I did not think to ask about that. In any case, I would say that Alex in sales would get a 4 to 5 out of 5 stars. Since my experience from that standpoint until now (when the CD player stopped working and I need to get it repaired under the warranty and thus found out about the deductible) was only positive, I kept returning to this dealership for service. However, the service department is not so straightforward. There is a "recommended" service every 7500 miles and this service easily end up cost up to $1000 with all of the routine replacements they find upon their inspection (which is 80% of the service package). It's really an unpleasant experience to go in for an oil change and then be maneuvered into unwanted routine service (most of which is just checks) which end up with a bunch of additional maintenance (which could even be covered under warranty according to the warranty's description online) and end up leaving the place paying $1000 more than you'd expected. Yes, my car runs wonderfully and I love it. That is why I am unhappy that I keep falling for the strongarming. More
We came in to Subaru not knowing what to expect or exactly what we were looking for. We only knew that we needed a safe, reliable, car that would handle well in a city in any weather. We came in on Ch exactly what we were looking for. We only knew that we needed a safe, reliable, car that would handle well in a city in any weather. We came in on Christmas Eve also and Ramsey was the only one that was still open! We were extremely happy with the service and attention we got. We left with one of my husband's dream cars, the Impreza STI, which is quickly now on the top of my favorites list. Subaru gave us a great financing deal in order to make all of this happen in under 2 hours, and on a holiday no less! Dayton Lau was a very helpful agent in getting us to decide on what was most important in a car to us with his many years of experience. The gentleman who helped with our financing was very friendly and got us the deal we needed in order to drive off with the car that day. So, all in all, the best car-buying experience I've ever had. We will probably be Subaru owners for life! Thanks Ramsey Subaru! More
I was consistently misled and lied to. There are apparently quite a few satisfied customers, so I have to assume that under average circumstances the culture of dishonesty that I was exposed to may apparently quite a few satisfied customers, so I have to assume that under average circumstances the culture of dishonesty that I was exposed to may not come into play. But here's what happened to me; you can decide for yourself if these are the kinds of people you want to do business with. I went to the dealership to see about a car I saw on their website, listed as "in transit". The salesman, Dayton Lau, went to the sales manager's office (Josh Jacobson) to check on the status of the vehicle, whereupon he told me it was indeed inbound on their current allocation, and was available for sale. I asked him what the ETA was, and he told me it could be any time, as they were getting deliveries almost daily, but that it could be as much as two to three weeks, and that they had no way of tracking. I wondered about this, since both the VIN and a stock number were listed on the dealership's web site, but not knowing how Subaru does things, I took his word for it, and put a deposit on the car. At any rate, there can have been no question as to which car it was, as there were no others of its type and description, neither on the lot, nor in their current or in-transit listings. In fact, because of this, I mentioned to Dayton that I was worried about the possibility that the car could arrive and get sold out from under me - not exactly an unheard of occurrence, especially with in-demand cars that are in short supply. I told him it was of particular concern to me as my current car was very overdue for a timing belt. His assurances could not have been more absolute - the car was mine, period. When I got home, I realized that the VIN was not on the contract. So I called Dayton, who told me he'd take care of it and get back to me. He did neither. I continued to follow the web site for any clues as to status. After a week or so the car was still listed, I assumed for purposes of taking backup names. But then the "in transit" label disappeared. I called, and was told it didn't mean anything, and that the car hadn't come in yet. A week later the car disappeared from the site. I stopped into the dealership and spoke to another salesman (Dayton wasn't in), who also assured me in no uncertain terms that I would be notified as soon as the car came in. But I just knew something was wrong, and the next day I called to speak to Dayton. He wasn't in yet, so I spoke to another salesman - who didn't understand how the situation I was describing could be the case, AS THE CAR IN QUESTION HAD BEEN SOLD SOME THREE WEEKS AGO - before I even showed up there. I then spoke to the sales manager, who immediately tried to dump me back on Dayton, but I told him I knew the VIN, and asked him to check on the car's status. He confirmed that the car was "gone", and tried to blame Dayton - as if I somehow didn't notice that they had a consultation before selling me the car. I pointed out that the car was listed on the website until the previous day, despite having been delivered to its new owner weeks before; and he said Subaru, not the dealership, runs the web site. Unbelievable. This is the email you get when you inquire about a car at this dealership: My name is Josh and I'm the Sales Manager here at Ramsey Subaru. I just would like to introduce myself and let you know that we are never undersold and that I would love for you to contact me if you need anything. Thanks so much for the opportunity to earn your business. I will beat any deal GUARANTEED! One of my salespeople will be contacting you shortly, I hold them to the highest standards. Again if there is anything you need please do not hesitate to contact me directly. What a weasel. More
Not only was the price great, but the people were fantastic. Clayton Mantell was so accommodating and helpful before I ever walked in the door of the dealership. I recently purchased a 2012 Impreza STI from this Dealership and I can honestly say that I very happy with the service, courtesy, and honesty of both Alex and Jerry. I spoke with Alex over the phone Dealership and I can honestly say that I very happy with the service, courtesy, and honesty of both Alex and Jerry. I spoke with Alex over the phone initially since I was over 70 miles away from his location. Everything he said to me on the phone was the same when I got to the dealership. He was completely honest about all the details and broke down all the possible scenarios in regards to my purchase. I never felt like I was being forced or rushed into making my decision. Alex was very professional, and able to answer all my questions about the car. Jerry in the finance department was also very friendly, professional, and patient with me. I have no complaints with this dealership and would purchase another vehicle from here in the future. Also they support the Military and Law Enforcement, which I think is a great thing. And lastly they had the best prices by far in the whole state. More

Having never purchased a new car before I was under the impression that dealers try to gouge you at every turn. However, I was very impressed with how easy working with Alex at Ramsey turned out to be. To begin with, after shopping around using the Zag buying service through PenFed credit union, Ramsey gave me the best offer - by far - of any dealer in the tri-state area. When I asked our local dealer to try to match Ramsey's price they suggested that it was not possible for Ramesy to offer this price and there was probably some sort of catch which I would learn about when I went to pick up the car. And I will admit to being somewhat apprehensive when I went to get the car as I had heard that once you are in the finance office all sorts of costs that you had not planned on can be added to the invoice (e.g. extended warranties, dealer fees, etc.). As it turned out, everything that Alex and the other Ramsey folks told me on the phone and via email was exactly what I got when I sat down with Jerry in the finance office. When I was finished with the paper work, Alex spent about 30 minutes with me and my wife going through the various controls and helping us set up the blue-tooth phone. For anyone in the tri-state area looking to buy a new Subaru, I highly recommend contacting Ramsey. More
