I was ready to take advantage of a lease offer from Honda's website. I spoke with a certain salesman at least five times over the phone. Every time I spoke with him, it sounded like he was in a Subwa Honda's website. I spoke with a certain salesman at least five times over the phone. Every time I spoke with him, it sounded like he was in a Subway station and I couldn't hear anything he said. On top of that, he was mumbling as if he were talking in his sleep! It really made it seem like the sale, and my satisfaction, wasn't that important. He could never really quote me specifics over the phone, and then refused to send me specifics over email because he would end up "going through the motions" and then I would take the offer and someone else would price match it at another dealership. Well, not sending me a lease price quote did end up causing me to go to another dealership where I got a much better deal than he would've been able to give me. At least he didn't have to go through the motions. To his credit, I never actually went to the dealership. But for someone who is supposedly an internet salesman, you would think they are used to working out specifics over the internet and not in person! More
Since 1997 we have owned 3 Hondas: a 1995 Accord, 2001 Odyssey and a 2009 Civic. We think Honda makes a great product. However until we bought our Civic from Pohanka Marlow Heights (Bill McGhee)and star Odyssey and a 2009 Civic. We think Honda makes a great product. However until we bought our Civic from Pohanka Marlow Heights (Bill McGhee)and started using their service department we were extremely disappointed in the service we had received from other Honda Dealerships. With other dealerships the repair was rarely done correctly the first time, the car was rarely ready when promised and the cost was much higher than local private mechanics. Pohanka Marlow Heights has completely won us over and we are converts that can't say enough good things about the purchase of our civic and the service and courtesy that we receive from all the staff. More
I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the wonderful service that my wife and I continue to experience from Pohanka Honda. Mr. Nilson Rivera who is always willing and able to address our service needs even without appointment. His attention to detail and professional temperament is a testament to his character and appreciation for his customers and job. I would be remiss if I did not take the time to also mention another "value - added resource that Pohanka employs, Mr Ralph Dykes. We believe among the many talents and an ability Mr. Dykes brings to the workplace is his meek...but commanding demeanor. That is, his ability to defuse uncomfortable situations to enforce a sense of calmness by all parties involved. Mr. Dykes has been instrumental in assisting us with insurance claims, warranty issues, and recalls that were identified by Honda America. In all cases, he along with his advisor (Mr. Rivera) took their time to explain and then in most cases to suggest a trip to the work bay to show the issue and fix firsthand on the vehicle. In closing, we live in Springfield, Virginia and the Fairfax Honda facility is much closer to our home. The fact that we have discovered such wonderful professional service under the leadership of Mr. Dykes and our trusted service advisor Mr. Rivera is the reason we sacrifice a little extra time and gas money to allow Pohanka Honda to service our car. Thank you both for a job well done and making customers like us completely satisfied. More

Working with Mr. Farrare (sp?) was an easy, enjoyable experience. He not only was fair, but upfront about price and features of the vehicle. I drove all the way from Richmond Virginia to purchase this vehicle from Pohanka Honda because of the price and vehicle selection. My wife and I love our new Honda Accord. Great Service and a great deal on a 2011 Honda CR-V EX-L 4 wheel drive. Hello Bill Page Honda and Browns Arlington Honda, I said DO NOT call me, didn't really matter as their offer was not in the ball park. Aubrey did a very good job at responding to my emails, not lightning fast but none the less, at a very good rate. The dealership itself is decent sized, not large, but I was told within the next 18 months they are moving further north into MD. It was a very personable buying experience. We had been to another Honda dealership in Alexandria--Landmark Honda, but wow, no personal experience there, must have been 10 rows of desks, with 4 desks in each row, side by side! No privacy there, but again, your buying a car and just want a great price. I must say Jay Bhanot at Landmark was great to deal with through emails, always fast to respond, but in the end, its price what truly matters and what landmark was offering was fine, but turned out to be more than what we paid. Enough to retire on, no, but nothing to sneeze at! Landmark figured $30 was beating the competition (best offer at that time, what a difference 12 hours makes!!) which I guess it is, in this case Pohanka crushed the competition!! What I truly enjoyed about Aubrey and Pohanka was they followed my instructions and gave me what I asked for. Some dealerships would just tell me to bring in my best offer and they would match it, or possibly beat it! Sheehy Honda was one of those! Yes they originally gave me a quote (which was HIGH) but then would only match or beat what I brought to them! What is beating the price I asked??? They could not tell me. $1 is beating the price!! For me, it is the person that does the work that should get rewarded! And in this case it was Pohanka. They did what I-- the customer wanted!! Sheehy just kept saying--well OTHER customers like it that way! Well, guess what, I do not like it that way, I'm the one buying the car, I want to be happy and feel like a valued customer, I got the feeling that was NOT going to happen at Sheey. As with the majority of people the lowest price matters and that is what I got at Pohanka--at least thats how I feel, but does 1 truly ever know??? I actually told them I need this price--which was much lower than what others had quoted me--and told me that it was their lowest----and actually walking out on landmarks showroom after they told me what was their lowest,and Pohanka said, ok, plus we will subtract another $100! Sign me up!! Aubrey was actually out of the dealership when we got there picking up our CRV, so the sales manager made us feel at home. He felt very genuine! One felt at ease, one felt valued and not just a check book walking into the store!! We actually talked about other stuff than cars. All the staff that we met were friendly. If they walked by you, they said hello. We were very impressed. Dealership was a fair sized, not huge, nor small. The sales desks were not close together, so one did have some privacy (in 1 corner, they were somewhat close, but not as close as other dealerships!) We got a price we felt very comfortable with, and great personable service. We didn't get any of that pushy talk one gets from the finance people--extra warranty, paint protection, etc etc. Simply said no thanks, and that was it. I guess the only downside of the whole process was that it took about 1.5 hrs to get the car ready, but does one truly want to rush them? I was Ok with them taking their time, plus they ordered pizza! Just missing the beer for a truly good time. In conclusion, we had a great experience with Pohanka. Right from the beginning they listened to what we wanted and did exactly that, and gave us what we felt like was a great deal. I have bought 6 other new cars and this was by far the best transaction, yes I'm sure tomorrow morning I will have some buyers remorse,lol did I buy the right car, right color,lol but I know that I got treated well at Pohanka, so that helps a lot. They listened to what I the paying customer wanted, and they delivered; sounds so simple to do, yet many other dealers don't! All I can say is that our experience with them has been extremely positive. More

Larry spent time showing the cars and both Larry and the President were both diligent in finding the right car, right color (make up your mind Mrs. Williams -- gray or blue), with a great deal for me. This is my first Honda (Chevy owner since the 70's, except for the time, 4 years, I owned a Cutlass) and I am very satisfied with the color (blue/gray) and specifically the car itself. Thanks to the whole Pohanka staff who came outside to congratulate me on my purchase. I was very surprise and it felt real good. What a great Pohanka staff! Yes, without hesitation, I would recommend Pohanka. Again, thanks for your patience and professional customer service. We got your name from the USAA buying site. Gregg called less than five minutes after we requested informations.
