I bought a new part for my 2003 Lincoln LS, while I was in there I talked to the man at the service desk and told him my moon roof canal was either broken, clogged, or off alignment (I had the same problem in there I talked to the man at the service desk and told him my moon roof canal was either broken, clogged, or off alignment (I had the same problem on the other side of the moon roof last year). I asked him approximately how much it would cost to fix. He told me around $120. I decided I could live with that (even though I paid $53 to have the exact same thing fixed, just the opposite side a year prior at Sylvania auto-glass). Brought the car in, they called me and told me it was ready, then they said that my serpentine belt was cracked and needed to be replaced, and my radiator was leaking. While on the phone with him I walked out to my concrete driveway where I park every single day and said, "Hm, I don't have any kind of spot what-so-ever in the drive way where I park every single day, not a drop." Then he said, "Oh well, it's a slow leak." I told him I would take it elsewhere to have it looked at. Then he told the price for the irrigation tube replacement...$214. Needless to say I will NEVER return to this chop-shop. More
Well,I went on-line and " built "one ( focus SE ) and within 20 minutes they called and said they had one for me.I went in the next day and found out that " they " didn't have it but another dealer ) and within 20 minutes they called and said they had one for me.I went in the next day and found out that " they " didn't have it but another dealership did in monroe mich, just what I wanted. So we talked and and he tryed to call them and the " salesman " he talked to wasn't there now,so he would try later. So he check to see if they had a car there I mite want. They sent me out in a car with things I didn't want on it and things that weren't on it that I wanted. So I took one out and showed my wife, she looked at it and said " this is what you wanted ",I said no but there are trying to get the one I wanted from another dealer.Took the car back told them my wife " wasn't " happy with it seeing that it didn't have what we wanted on it ( package, rims, color & etc ).I was told " they find me what I wanted ",so I sat down and filled out loan papers and looked at him and said " oh how much did you give me for my trade in ",he said I let you know when you come back tommorrow. Day 2 I went in after work and waied for about 45 minutes, nobody new where my salesman was so I finally got ready to leave and he showed up, I guess from lunch. We sat down and started going over everthing. They found a car,so he started going over everthing on the car and there was 5 thing including the rims that weren't on the car and it was the top package, which I didn't want.He told me I was getting a deal and the could work an getting things like the rims for me.I said great, but I didn't want the SEL package and he keep telling me that it was a "better deal ",but my payments were $75 dollars more a month for the better deal.I said I'd have to think about it and talk to the wife, and he said they would have to order the rims and it mite take a week or so to get them in,but once we had the deal done they would do that, then he told me it would be an extra $ 1000 for the rims,I looked at him and said I'm not paying for thoes they are suppose to come with the car I wanted.I just got up and said " I'll be in touch " and as I walked away I said " oh by the way,how much was I given for my trade-in " he looked at me,looked thur the papers and said how much were you looking at,I said $ 6500.00,which was about $ 2300 below resale for what they would sell on the lot and I do know that I would get less than what its worth,he looked at me and said, well its half of what you wanted, less than half.I was offered $ 2300 for my BMW Z3.I just looked at he and said " what, are you frickin nuts " so he called and said that the usecar manager was being very fair. I said really, all the other car dealers ( chevy,Kia,Honda and even another Ford dealer ) gave me at least $ 6000 for it and your giving me about 35 % of the value,so your making about $ 3500 profit not counting the extra you'll make when you resale it when you put it on the lot and selling me a car that is more expensive than what I wanted, the old " bait n switch plus LOW BALL OFFER ".I just tossed all the paper work on the desk and said " Bye ".Within a week I had bought an new 2012 Hyundai Velsoter with more thing on it and $ 4000.00 cheaper than the focus and I was given $ 6000 for my trade and wasn't given a run around like at this dealer.I don't ever want to think about buying a car from them again,it was really a bad time for me from start to finish. Horrible expreience. Will NEVER go back to Matthews for anything. Went in for a warranty transfer and no one could help me or were willing to help me with the transfer. So I tried to be optimistic and rath anything. Went in for a warranty transfer and no one could help me or were willing to help me with the transfer. So I tried to be optimistic and rather than have my trip be a waste I asked about getting an oil cheange since I was due. Asked the gentleman at the service desk how long it would take to get an oil change to which he replied "20 Minutes". I also asked if they could install my front license plate bracket since I did not have the tool to do it myself and he said that would be no problem. After an hour and ten minutes of waiting I returned to the counter to find out what was taking so long to find out my car was done and no one had notified me. Mind you I was keeping an eye on the lot throughout the hour and it wasnt like the car had been sitting long. I think waiting an hour for an oil change is absolutely ridiculous not to mention I went to put my plate on when I returned home only to find out they hadn't installed my bracket either, and it was no longer in the vehicle. So I had to go back to get my bracket and by this point I was so fed up I took the bracket and left. I will travel across town from now on for my auto service I am that disappointed in the customer service I received. More
I bought a car from "Jason" in December last year.(coincidence he no longer works there after assuring me I could contact him with ANY problem) After signing all the paperwork they handed me the year.(coincidence he no longer works there after assuring me I could contact him with ANY problem) After signing all the paperwork they handed me the keys. (I DID test drive this vechicle) On my way home the heat went out on the car. I could not safely see (it was winter and the windows fogged up) I took the car back to the dealership and it took them over a week to fix the problem. The other day I turned on my car and the windsheild wipers came on. I thought the wipers were left on and I started to drive down the road. I tried to turn them off as the radio was coming off and on and the turn signals did not work, so I drove it home. I called the dealership and they said to bring it in" I said that was not a safe choice and they said to have it towed to the dealership. The dealership could not address the problem so they sent it to another dealership and now 1 week later they still have not diagnosed the problem so Matthews Ford REFUSES to pay for a rental car or give us a car to use until they DIAGNOSE the problem. This is WITH the extra protection plan. They expect you to pay the DISCOUNTED rate of $35.00 a day for a rental (which would be $245 just for the 7 days they have had it so far.... almost the ammount of my monthly payment)NO ONE wants to help. Andy at Ford says to talk to Brache at Rouen and Brache says to talk to Andy at Matthews Ford.Everyone agrees its complicated but the only one without a vechicle is me. You know the one making a car payment every month without having a car. TRUST ME you do NOT want to buy a car from these people. More

Especially Jason Sweet and the very nice folks in the Parts Department, who will recognize me at sight if not by name. I am upset because this dealership used unscrupulous sales techniques to get people to their lot and they wasted a day of my time by asking me to drive almost 180 miles (roundtrip) for nothing. I had sales techniques to get people to their lot and they wasted a day of my time by asking me to drive almost 180 miles (roundtrip) for nothing. I had inquired about a grand cherokee and received a callback from Michelle around 1pm. She said they were running a trade-in promotion during which they give "more than the blue book trade-in value" of the vehicle. I had a trade-in, so I asked if the promotion would apply to my vehicle. She said they needed to actually see the vehicle, so I would have to bring it in. I live north of Detroit, MI and the dealership is in the Toledo, OH area, so I wanted to make sure I wasn't wasting my time driving 90 miles to the dealership just to find out the grand cherokee was gone or that they wouldn't take my trade, so I was transferred to a sales manager, who assured me the vehicle was still in stock and that they would indeed take my trade-in, but wanted to inspect it first, and urged me to stop out today. I took the afternoon off and drove down to the dealership, only to be asked to sit and wait for about 45 minutes while they tried to locate the grand cherokee. After 45 minutes, they had the keys, but they couldn't find the vehicle. After checking with someone else, I was told they had sold the grand cherokee that afternoon. This means I was either lied to by a member of their staff on the phone, and/or they sold a vehicle and failed to include the second set of keys. I was asked by more than one person (on the phone and in person) if I was looking for that specific vehicle or just an suv in general and I made it clear that I was looking for that specific grand cherokee, so I'm guessing they knew they didn't have it in stock when they asked me to drive all the way to Toledo. This dealership knowingly wasted hours of my time just so they could try to sell me something I don't want. They also seemed to have trouble keeping track of their inventory. More
