I came to look at a Equinox i found online for a good price. Hal told me the vehicle I wanted to look at was sold. Then after I looked at another (more expensive)vehicle, he assured me it would be within price. Hal told me the vehicle I wanted to look at was sold. Then after I looked at another (more expensive)vehicle, he assured me it would be within the price range I gave him. I sat at Matthews Ford for for almost 5 HOURS while they ran paperwork and finalized the "DEAL" they were going to get us. While I waited they wanted me to purchase insurance for the SUV BEFORE we purchased it. When we finally were presented with the finalized "deal" it turns out they were trying to sell me the car for ALMOST $700.00 MORE THAN THEIR OWN ADVERTISED ONLINE PRICE!!! (BEFORE tax, title, and registration!) It was NOWHERE NEAR the price range I told him, but did not find that out until 5 hours of waiting! They just wanted us to sign the paper and take it home! Then was presented at an interest rate of 24.99%!! (the highest legal interest rate) I told them it was not going to happen and we left. The worst part about it? - The VERY NEXT DAY new pics were posted online of the Equinox that I was originally told was SOLD!!! In my opinion these people are crooks and SHOULD NOT BE TRUSTED, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME going through all this at their dealership. I was told by Jim Kovacs that Hal was their best salesman, now I know why. He lied to us and wasted all of our time because he thought he could sell us a car for more than it was worth. More

This was our first experience with Mike Sager and he is very helpful, friendly and wants to make sure that you are happy and get what you want. The service staff are great and know what they are doing, so I will bring my car here for any work as I do not trust anyone else to touch my car. The other sales staff we have dealt with were nice and friendly as well. Will continue to buy from Mathews, and will recommend anyone looking for a Ford to shop herel! More

I called up Matthews Ford to help with find a car for a friend who was relocating to Toledo for work. I agreed to purchase the vehicle for him to help him out. My friend took a temporary contract for 5 mon friend who was relocating to Toledo for work. I agreed to purchase the vehicle for him to help him out. My friend took a temporary contract for 5 months and, for this reason, I was unwilling to spend a lot of money on a vehicle. I set a price range and a set of expectations based on this. When I called I was put through to Mike Sager, he listened to my needs and assured me he could make it happen for my limited budget. I basically needed a vehicle to cover 4000 miles. Mike found me a Chevy Lumina, it fit my price range so I sent my friend to take it for a spin. Everything seemed fine. I spoke with Mike to reiterate my needs, and he again assured me that this car should be fine. He then informed me that the windscreen was cracked and would need to be replaced...he then stated that the car should still fit my price range. I'm not sure if charging me for a repair before I even own the car is typical but I just needed my friend to be on the road, so I agreed. When my friend returned to pick up the car 4 days later it would not start. I understand that the battery loses charge from being sat dormant for a long period but at least give it some juice so my friend can get it home. At this stage I was concerned but Mike assured me that a new battery would be inexpensive at a local parts dealer...again, not sure why I am responsible for the new battery. Within 200 miles the car began to overheat, within 400 miles it was overheating so badly that my friend could only drive 5 miles before pulling over to let the engine cool down. I called Mike to ask what could be done, and how he proposes to keep me happy. Mike explained that there is not really anything that he could do. I asked to speak to his manager, who also told me there is nothing they could do. I understand that cars are unpredictable and things go wrong. I also appreciate that a dealer is not obliged to do anything under these circumstances but I do feel like they might have went against protocol given the fact we only bought the car 1 week ago and barely got anything out of it.....I asked if they would let me switch-no, I asked if they would let me return-no, I asked if they would take a look to diagnose the problem-no. It's astonishing how quickly Mike and his manager turned from YES men to No men in such a short space of time. I would advise being very meticulous about any car before purchasing. It seems to me like they did not care about the quality of the vehicle because it was something they wanted to get rid of. DON'T TRUST THESE GUYS!!!!!!! More
Iam a returning customer and have found that Mike Seger and the rest of the team are very family oriented. I have a name like that of the owner and like to play it up. This is my fifth vehicle and third in and the rest of the team are very family oriented. I have a name like that of the owner and like to play it up. This is my fifth vehicle and third in the last four years. Each purchase I enjoyed the ability to make a decision on purchasing my vehicle without being presured to do so. Mathews Ford has always offered me fair pricing on my trade and the vehicle I am purchasing. Tim Mathews and Mike Seger at Mathews Ford make my wife and I feel like family. This is why I will always shop Mathews Ford. More
When I walked into this dealership I was immediately greeted by their customer service rep. She then lead me to a dealer and asked if we wanted anything to drink. It was nice but it wasn't over bearing. greeted by their customer service rep. She then lead me to a dealer and asked if we wanted anything to drink. It was nice but it wasn't over bearing. After talking over what I was looking for the dealer went to get the car I was interested in. It took a bit of time due to the battery being dead, but we were on the road shortly after for a test drive. We then began discussing the price and down payments. I kept asking if they needed the down payment that day or if we could have a few days to gather more funds (I didn't actually intend on purchasing a car that day, but did because of End of the Year discounts). Once we had signed all the paperwork is when we found out that we didn't need a down payment that day. I got the car home and I noticed something on the paper work. It listed several options on the car. The dealer had mentioned them all, but we never talked one of them. So I called the dealer the next day to ask about it. He said that it wasn't installed yet and that once I paid my down payment in full we could schedule a day to have it installed. I wouldn't have minded this option if had been installed already, but it rubbed me the wrong way that they had listed this option as if it was already installed. If they had asked me if I wanted one I would have said no. When I went to pay the down payment I confronted the dealer about this and asked if he could refund it. Of course the answer was no, because the deal was done. I wouldn't let it go and eventually we were able to exchange it for something I wanted. It will be installed as soon as it gets in. Basically I didn't appreciate the underhanded nature of the deal. More

Purchased 2 vehicles from here and had problems with the dealership both times. I purchased a new 2012 Fusion in March 2012 and at delivery was told they could not find the 2nd key for my vehicle told me t dealership both times. I purchased a new 2012 Fusion in March 2012 and at delivery was told they could not find the 2nd key for my vehicle told me to give them a few days to find it. A few days later I called and was told they were still looking for it and to call back in a few more days. So after a week and a half I called and was told they would have to make me a new key cause the other was lost or Ford only gave them 1 key to begin with. I was furious nothing like having keys floating around for my car somewhere in gods knows whose possession. I went in and it took an hour to make me a new key. A day or so later I noticed I never received my "key" for my locking lug nuts, so back to the dealership I went was told they would look for it and I told them I was not waiting and I want new locking lug nuts installed, now not later which they did. Forward 5 months later my son purchased a 2012 Focus and traded in his Mazda. After being at the dealership for 4+ hours, the dealership was actually now closed, we were hungry and just wanted to get home with his new car. We were informed by the sales person that if we wished to just get his stuff out of his old car we could do it the next morning, which we agreed too. The next morning we went to retrieve the things in his car and was told the car was "out back in the gravel". When we got to the car we noticed someone had stolen his $300 subwoofer and custom box that had been in the trunk. Went back in to showroom and was told they had video cameras and would find out what happened. They said they watched the video and said it was too dark to see anything. So after being told there was not much they could do for me since the keys were supposedly locked up in a desk. I was offered 2 free oil change coupons and a $100 check, which was agreed too since something was better than nothing. Now here I am a month later and still no check. I have called and been told numerous time the check is in the mail. This place needs to get their stuff together. More
I recently visited the dealership to get my 2012 MKS wipers fixed. I wanted to say that I arrived in a very frustrated state - but by the time I left I felt like I was talking to a good friend.
