We were told how much the pay off was and should have had money left over for a down payment on another car. Markosian received the payout from the insurance company and kept ALL of the money! All of a sudden there were other fees we had to pay that we were NEVER told about, and I spoke with them last week about the payout cost. We are contacting our attorney in the morning to deal with these thieves! Stay FAR away from this horrible company!!! Update: The owner would like me to remove my review because the refund was supposedly given to my husband and I. This is a complete lie! My husband went down to Taylorsville last week to get the refund, as I was told by Dallas the check would be ready and we could get the refund. My husband was in SLC before Dallas called him and told him he could no longer get the refund and it would be another 10 days before we would see anything. I then proceeded to call Dallas about this and call him out on his lie, and he ultimately hung up on me. We contacted our attorney about this last week and he said he will be in contact with Markosian. So NO, I will NOT be removing my review as we were lied to and the refund has NEVER been received. Liars. I leased a truck and was told at the end of the lease if I made all of the payments there would be a "small" residual payment and I could buy the truck. That "small" residual payment is 3600$. Anyo lease if I made all of the payments there would be a "small" residual payment and I could buy the truck. That "small" residual payment is 3600$. Anyone consider that small? Additionally I was told at the end of the lease I could get 5,000$ trade in value for the truck, another lie. It's hard to believe these guys are in business. More
This company has the worst customer service I have ever encountered in 30 years. I leased a vehicle for $530 per month. I made on time payments for over 24 months. In July of 2021 my transmission went out encountered in 30 years. I leased a vehicle for $530 per month. I made on time payments for over 24 months. In July of 2021 my transmission went out, they guided me to take it to a local transmission shop. After 45 days of no vehicle and no transmission. They sent my vehicle to certified dealership after this time. It was there for an additional 10 days. I had no vehicle from July to September, yet I was still paying $530 month for the vehicle and paid out over $2000 in rental car fees and the additional $600 deductible for them to not put one but TWO transmissions in my vehicle. After the vehicle was returned to me it had several more issues to which I was suppose to repair at my own cost. So roughly $4500 later I could have not only paid for the transmission twice but I could have had a vehicle back to me in a reasonable time that I actually that could have drove. Once all said and done I requested a pay off amount via email in October. Their employee informed me the amount listed in the email file would be all the costs involved in paying off my vehicle and returning it to them(MULITIPLE TIMES). I drove 10 hours to return my vehicle with the payoff amount in hand, once arrived they informed me there was an additional $300 due. At first it was sales tax they forgot to include then the girl called her manager and it was $300 in DMV fees. I paid the amount I was given via email and told her I would call Monday to speak with a manager about the remaining $300 owed. After calling three times the "Manager" was able to speak with myself and my husband. She was no help whatsoever. They stated it was their error and sorry but we still owed the money. EVEN after we paid down to the cent the amount they sent us on their company letter head, from their employee in their PAYOFF department, there was nothing they could do. I use the term "Manager" lightly as their was no managerial tact existent and customer training seems to be something they don't use at APG. The Manager was completely unwilling to help and quite rude when we tried to explain that their company error in no way results in us owing more money. She was unwilling to transfer us to someone else as she stated she is as high as it gets in APG which is worrisome in itself. After 25 minutes of her arguing and repeating her self since her resolution skills are completely inept she hung up on us. This is not a business worth even walking into let alone giving your money too. They are not accredited for a reason. Take your money and go elsewhere this is a nightmare that never ends and has the employees to prove it. More
I went to Markosian after my son suggested it might be an option for me to get a decent car. A friend had purchased a car for me then filed bankruptcy listing the car I had, a 2015 VW Jetta TSI. A car I had option for me to get a decent car. A friend had purchased a car for me then filed bankruptcy listing the car I had, a 2015 VW Jetta TSI. A car I had purchased for $12995 from a dealership in Oakland, California with 29380 miles on it. At the time I lost the VW, It had 220000 miles on it. Never had one mechanical issue with it. So, after losing my Jetta, I went to Markosian of Logan, Utah. I told them that I needed a reliable car that got great gas mileage as I used my car in conjunction with my employment. They found a 2012 Ford Fusion. The car had over 100000 miles on it. From day one, the car had transmission issues. No car should shift gears at over 4000 rpms, especially not cars made after 2000. I brought the issue to the dealership and they wanted me to take it to their preferred repair shop, the shop they have repairs done at. I found out that shop had no appointments available for over two weeks. I went back to Markosian and they had me take it to the dealership to have reprogrammed the PCM and the TCM for the adaptive transmission. The car still shifted at higher rpms. After complaining several times that the issue wasn’t resolved and that I was only getting 383 miles per tank, a ridiculously low amount of miles on a car that’s supposed to get 27 miles per gallon, Markosian agreed to take the car back, claiming their goal was customer satisfaction. This was after I had to have the windshield wiper reservoir replaced as well. Next, I got into a 2010 Ford Escape with over 118000 miles on it. I’ve owned three Ford escapes between 2001 and 2005. All had the 3.0l dual over head cam V6 motor and were great cars. Average mileage per gallons was 25 to 27 miles and the towing capacity is at 3500 lbs. This 2010 has the 2.5 liter 4 cylinder motor in it. it is too small of a motor for a midsize SUV. Since day one, I have had nothing but problems with the car. The car changes gears at a high rpm, loses power when climbing a hill and barely gets 20 miles per gallon unless you’re on extremely flat ground. So far, I’ve discovered that the head was replaced, something that was not disclosed to me at the time of purchase, I’ve also discovered that even though they claim the car was never involved in an accident, it’s a lie. Noticeable indications of this are that bumper clips that hold the front bumper on are missing or broken, misaligned hood, windshield seals not replaced properly and instead household foam door sealer used to stop air flow. Damage to the under carriage indicating possible structural damage. More issues I have encountered are yet another broken windshield wiper reservoir needing complete replacement, a non functioning ac unit, which now the service department says is a voided issue because I unknowingly recharged the ac system with refrigerant that has a sealer additive to it, imagine no ac in over 100 degree temps, interior trim and door handles missing clips and screws that hold essential parts to the vehicle. Cracked and or damaged interior trim pieces which were replaced, incorrectly installed and or forced into place when the car was taken apart to install their tracking device and ignition kill module. I’ve brought these issues to the attention of the service department as well as Markosian and the general attitude is one of devil may care, buyer beware, you get what you pay for. They act as though they have done me some great favor selling me a car for almost $12,000.00 that at this point every mechanic I’ve spoken too says isn’t worth $6000.00. What angers me off more than anything is their real lack of concern for the safety and security of people buying vehicles from them. They take advantage of people and claim they are helping rebuild credit by financing you are car with high mileage that has obvious mechanical issues This morning, I contacted the financial department, (their in house financing department) and told them I wanted to cancel my service agreement which I pay an extra $82 dollars a month for. They told me I had to go through the dealership I bought the car through. I spoke with Elliot up in Logan and was told my service agreement is non transferable, and can not be cancelled. I was told it was non transferable. No one ever said I couldn’t cancel it. Next I’m told I have to speak to Mike who is ironically out of town. I’ve also recently discovered that there is a big warning sign that appears when my file is accessed that says no one is allowed to authorize any repairs. In my opinion, the only reason this business even gets one star is because initially, Mike, the manager at the Logan store did make attempts to resolve a few issues with the Ford Fusion. But, once he realized I was smarter than the average customer and had enough sense to ask the questions I needed answers to by a certified mechanic and other dealerships, his attitude has changed towards me and is now one of intolerance, and as though he has washed his hands of any issue that I might have. My strongest recommendation is that not only should people not do business with Markosian, but also that the dealership should lose its business license and ability to sell cars in Utah period. This dealership gets cars from undisclosed auctions, fixes them to the point of them running and then sells them at prices that would indicate they are in much better condition than they actually are. I will promise you that they do not have one car that will not face mechanical issues either before it hits one of three lots they have, if not shortly after. To think that I put $900.00 down on this piece of garbage and have already put over $400.00 into it out of my own pocket and haven’t even had the car for a full month is absolutely ludicrous. As far as I’m concerned, Markosian are the biggest crooks in the car industry that I have ever had the misfortune of trusting. Update; I was contacted by Melissa whom works for Markosian in an effort to try and resolve some of my issues. I commend her efforts but the fact remains, her superiors are limiting her ability to resolve my issues, Ie; the AC unit not working. I’m still waiting to see what efforts they will make to resolve the non functioning rear window on the drivers side and the windshield wiper reservoir not holding windshield wiper fluid. We shall see how this turns out. As of the moment, I’m in limbow More
As far as salesman and getting us into a car they were fantastic. It was an easy process and they were all really nice and professional. Now the reason I did not give it five stars is its only been five fantastic. It was an easy process and they were all really nice and professional. Now the reason I did not give it five stars is its only been five weeks and I’ve had two issues with the car. The first issue was before I even drove it off of the lot. They fixed it right away no problem. The second issue is going on right now. I don’t think I should have to pay for a repair a month from purchase.. so I’ll keep you posted More
