I purchased my 2006 Saturn Vue in Dec. 2007 at Bob Baker. When I went in to close the deal, I was told the price on the windshield was the sale price and the sale was over, even though it was still painted o When I went in to close the deal, I was told the price on the windshield was the sale price and the sale was over, even though it was still painted on the car. Then I was told I needed a different car alarm (over $700) in order to get financing and they raised the interest rate. The salesman was a nice guy, but the dealership was all about xxxx and pillage. The car's been a good ca, but I would never ever go to a Bob Baker dealership. I'm selling my Saturn now in order to buy my 1st new car. And, once again, I'm feeling the pain of Bob Baker as I see how upside down I am on this car. So unless you want to learn a lesson on how not to buy, NEVER BUY A CAR FROM BOB BAKER AUTO GROUP. If you have any question feel free to email me at sandiegobd@aol.com and I'd even be happy to show you the contract. Dennis San Diego More
I bought one used car that had been pieced together. I only noticed this after owning it for awhile. They do very good reconstruction work. I took the car back sucked up the difference and bought one that only noticed this after owning it for awhile. They do very good reconstruction work. I took the car back sucked up the difference and bought one that they told me hadn't been pieced together and I have been finding all the things that are pieced back together on this one. I have bought used cars from Bob bkaer before and have never had problems like this. It's almost like they have a new system or practice, that or they just got two over on me. I am very dissapointed and have been actually laughed at adn been told that I am a complainer by employees. So now I have a car that I don't want and I am really thinking about just taking it back and leaving it on the lot and finding out what happens. I call and talk with people who say they are going to get soneone to help me and I never get a call back. I took it in for a oil change and they cmae back with a list of 700 hundred dollars of things that need to be done and I haven't even had the car a year....I am really disappointed and will never deal with them again! I bought my "new" Tundra from Bob Baker, only to find out from the DMV that it was used. The DMV rejected the paperwork, because my "new" Tundra was registered before. Bob Baker had to fill out new DMV paper from the DMV that it was used. The DMV rejected the paperwork, because my "new" Tundra was registered before. Bob Baker had to fill out new DMV paperwork, so my Tundra could be registered for 6 months at full price. This was just the to cap off a horrible experience. It took 3 or 4 hours to buy my Tundra, and I really needed more time. I was rushed at the end, because my diabetic, ex-girlfriend's glucose level crashed. I just signed the papers that the "finance" lady gave me without looking at everything. Big mistake! I paid $500 for a $100 alarm and $1600 for a warranty that you can buy online for $900. After I discovered my truck was used, I was pissed! I put a big sign in my truck and parked it in front of Bob Baker Toyota. The sign had the url for http://www.bobbakersucks.com. It was fun to watch the sales men freak out when they saw the sign. The general manager agreed to refund the $500 for the alarm and put in a bedliner, if I would remove the sign. That was good enough for me. That plus canceling the warranty within 60 days, so I would get a full refund. But I did not get my warranty refund, because there was an "error" processing my cancellation form. I had to call back a few times before I finally got my partial refund, because it was past the 60 days by the time the warranty company got the cancellation. Do not buy a car or truck from these guys. More
Would not go back . They worked the deal and gave me a price with payment . What they do is on paper give with a low price and a payment . so they say 29000 with 400 payment .You shake hands on the deal price with payment . What they do is on paper give with a low price and a payment . so they say 29000 with 400 payment .You shake hands on the deal and go to finance. Your payment dosent change but the price of the car does. So watch the price in the finace room. The payment stays the same but the price of the car goes up. So they keep you focused on the payment and you miss that the price has changed. After I got home I noticed that the price of the car was 29800 and the payment was 413. They also drop the price of your trade. They say they were giving 6000 for my trade and then in the contract it was 5500. So in total they switched 1300 in the finance room . So watch out for this shady dealer . They will not get any of my money again. Will not go back for service or anything. Hope this helps someone. More
I would like to begin with the salesmen were wonderful and very accomidating. In fact when we left that day we were determined to spread the word about how wonderful they were... then came the finance dep and very accomidating. In fact when we left that day we were determined to spread the word about how wonderful they were... then came the finance department. First they sold our loan to another bank (which under Scion pure-pricing is not allowed). This bank did not have automatic deposit which we specifically said we wanted. Only after we threatened to report them was it taken care of, and then very slowly. For the past 3 months, yes 3 months, we have been dealing with their financial department. Apparently they did not get all the paper work at signing for one of our trade-ins and it is our fault. In that 3 months we have been badgered everyday that the paperwork is in our hands, even when we are waiting for the bank to mail us something or a DMV to call back. When they have the paperwork they do not respond to us for weeks, then suddenly it's this urgent thing all over again. My husband and I both are in crunch time at work, that means 80+ hour weeks (which has been explained), but they still call us during our work hours with condescending accusations. Overall this has been a headache and pain, and even after the bank has said "we sent you everything they need" and we give it to the dealer, they still cannot get anything done. We will never deal with them again, and we are seriously considering not buying a Toyota again simply out of customer service. More
Tried to tell me I have bad credit (they said score of of 600), then offered me high financing. I told them I could finance thru my bank for much less, and that I knew I had a score of 850. I kept asking t 600), then offered me high financing. I told them I could finance thru my bank for much less, and that I knew I had a score of 850. I kept asking them why they lied, and they said it was a joke. Not funny. They kept telling me that the papers were almost ready, tried to charge $300 over advertised price for the car (I was in to buy the weekly advertised special so no negotiating). Finally after 1 1/2 hours of stalling me (remember that when I walked in at 8 am the price was already set) I had to get to work. At that point, they told me 1/2 hour more- but they had said that twice before. They also told me they don't take credit cards, which is also B.S. Do not trust these people. More
I was looking for a Scion tC RS1 model (the limited edition red one). They had one on the lot that they let me test drive. When we went back inside, about to purchase it, they told us that it was alr edition red one). They had one on the lot that they let me test drive. When we went back inside, about to purchase it, they told us that it was already on hold for someone else. These other people happened to show up and bought the car. I don't know whats worse, the fact that he BS'd us around with a car we couldn't buy, or the fact that we almost bought a car that was technically on hold (possibly sold) to someone else. Regardless, it's very shady, and I was very displeased with the way they handled themselves. More
