Bob Baker Toyota has a single-minded focus on customer satisfaction; clearly the employees are happy people in every dept too--an absolutely amazing dealership! On July 2, 2010, "A horse a horse my Kingdom for a horse" was my plea. Well,all drama aside, it really was awful not working and suffering under my husband's zig zag income (he's an armed security guard). Now I can work too and have the steel horse of my dreams! With a string of helpers I bought a 2007 Corolla S in perfect condition. At the end of the experience, Tracy, in the finance section helped us sort out all the paperwork and explained it well. She is a brilliant, gifted and compassionate person with keen insight into people and their needs. We got such a great deal on the Corolla that we began to imagine we might get enough for our Chevy Silverado truck to make a down payment on a smaller Toyota truck. It would have cost us at least $1200 or so in the immediate future to make some repairs on the Silverado which seemed like a waste of money if we could trade it in as is as a down payment on a used Toyota truck at Bob Baker. We went back to Bob Baker Toyota on July 6 to see what could be done hopeful given our experiences on July 2 with my Corolla. The Manager and Elie, the number cruncher and paper jockey really helped us understand everything about purchasing the Tacoma Truck. The Manager stretched the worth of our Silverado and gave us a surprising $4000 for it which we put down on on a beautiful silver 2006 Tacoma, just right for my sporty husband who loves to go off road a bit and to drive a stick! That did it, we are now outfitted so we may both work with a car AND a truck in excellent repair and under long excellent warranties and even lo-jacks and data dots for security. The payments are something we can manage given my ability to go back to work. I can't help thinking how it was for me being sidelined without a car for so long and how important it is to have the means to change or lives for the better. My husband can go further out for better paying jobs with out the aforementioned gas-gorging of the Silverado too. We have been low income seniors ever since returning to the San Diego area in 2008 and were scared to get in over our heads, but the dealership went that extra distance to really help us see how we can afford our vehicles. Anyway, they worked their magic there at Bob Baker Toyota and we are now able to get back in the game and have a life again. I am sorry I misplaced several biz cards of the people that helped us at the dealership to talk about their support during the buying process but I can tell you that from the Manager to the secretaries and the workers in the repair department, they are all people I consider friends and all well-schooled in the old-fashioned virtues of good manners, courtesy and genuineness. On July 5th, however, I was written up by Trudy Roux, who I had seen several times prior, but had never spoken to. Well, I had a most pleasant conversation with Trudy, who explained a number of things to me which made my experience at the dealership most satisfying. From now on I will ask for Trudy right from the start because I know now that I can expect good advice and excellent service from Trudy and her team. I also want you to know that I have bought several items from Mike Gwatney (parts dept.) over the years, and he too has been most pleasant to deal with. More
Salesperson was the main reason I went to this dealership.I had leased from this dealership in 2007, but I was very dissatified with the my salesperson. Art Taylor my original salesperson was not avaiable due to a health problem. And the person taking care of his affairs was no one for me to do business again. But this year when I was looking for a new lease Art Taylor made the difference and I came back to this dealership for a new lease. I was so impressed with his professionalism that I brought in friend who also leased a Camry with Art. More
The service I received was excellent, it was not the usually price haggling you usually have to do when you go to a dealership. Art Taylor became not just a sales person but a friend. I went in to Bob Baker to trade in my 06 Toyota Tacoma for a family vehicle since I am going to be a new Dad in October. Art Taylor was the sales representative that helped me. I told him that I needed a 4 door family vehicle that would be able to get my quad to the desert without spending more than I was already spending. He was able to offer me a great deal on a 2010 Rav 4 Sport which met all of my requirements and then some. I love the new car and could not be happier. I did not feel pressured or uncomfortable with any part of the purchase process. The paper work process was the shortest I have ever experienced and I have purchased two other new vehicles other than the Rav 4. Art made buying a new vehicle as enjoyable as it could possibly be. I would highly recommend that other prospective buyers go to Bob Baker Toyota and ask for Art Taylor. More
Bob Martin is the best. Since I bought the car he has taken care of me and my car and he has been the reason I keep coming back, even though the expense is more. Trudy Roux began to take care of me when Bob Martin left. I absolutely recommend her to anyone. She as been absolutely stellar and taken care of my car regularly. The purpose of our first visit (yesterday) was an oil change for our 2006 Toyota Sienna van. When we first arrived to the service center we were greeted by a welcoming and friendly Bob Martin. Bob was pleasant to speak with and provided excellent customer service, to include service recommendations based on our service report in their system. Unfortunately, we weren't able to complete the minor maintenance package due to personal time constraints. We rec'd a thorough report of what needed to serviced, including immediate attention items. We didn't hesitate to give Bob a call the next day to schedule the service. We returned the next day to service and repair a trans pan gasket, adjust and clean brakes, replace engine air filter and cabin filter. We called Bob directly and he informed us that if we brought it in before 2pm he would have the vehicle back to us by 5pm that same afternoon. We rec'd a call at about 4pm from Bob who said our car is ready and currently being washed, an hour earlier than expected. We didn't arrive until after 5pm and Bob was waiting there to greet us and thank us for our business before he had to leave for the day. Bob also provided a complimentary tire rotation. Again, Bob exemplified awesome customer service. I would definitely recommend Bob Martin and their service department, and will continue to go there for our Toyota Sienna service needs.
