07 F-150 Lariat debacle in 2013 I brought my truck there due to ticking noise in engine. $2,400.00 and a new cam ,phaser and rocker arms on left side of engine late rmy truck in 2013 I brought my truck there due to ticking noise in engine. $2,400.00 and a new cam ,phaser and rocker arms on left side of engine late rmy truck was back to normal. Fast forward to june of 2015 and 40,000 miles later my engine developed a different noise. Again I went to this dealership as I trusted them from before. They replaced the cam and rocker arms on the same side of motor as before. This only cost $1,800.00, When asked they could not answer why the same parts went bad. The service advisor ,advised me to change oil at 3,000miles instead of factory specs of 5,000. I picked up my truck on a Saturday, 6/272015. I drove 25 miles in the next 6 days and things seemed normal. On Thursday 7/2/2015 I drove my truck 2.5 miles to the store and upon returning home the noise that I origanilly heard was back. I called the service center and nobody was available due to holiday weekend and being after 6:00pm. After 1 trip back to dealership they said no problem no noise but noise was normal and maybe the oil hadn't settled in yet. After second trip they said they didn't hear any noise aftert having my truck for 3 days. When I drove home that day and pulled into my drive way the noise was there. I went back that afternoon and meet with the shopforeman and he heard the noise and informed me that it was the cam phaser selonoids on both sides of the motor. After several days I had to call back for my estimate and had to be calld back because the servics advisor didn't have the quote yet. Several hours later I was told $1,800 but would knock off $400.00 of labor. $1,400.00 to repair what I had just paid $1,800.00 to repair. I filed a claim with the BAR and this has been going on for over 3 months. Dealership denies any fault, I haven't trusted my truck to drive since. I had a private mechanic quote me $450.00 to replace these selonoids but was hoping that Ken Grody Ford of Carlsbad would stand up and do the right thing. They havent and now thid Ford owner of 30 years will soon be driving a different make. I wouldn't take my bicycle there to be repaired. Oh and as a side note, my service advisor no longer works there. hmmm..... More
Would not trust Ken Grody Ford Carlsbad! On Monday, June 29, 2015 I saw a used 2009 Ford Ranger on the Ken Grody Carlsbad Website, I emailed them twice (Monday & Tuesday) to see if the vehicl On Monday, June 29, 2015 I saw a used 2009 Ford Ranger on the Ken Grody Carlsbad Website, I emailed them twice (Monday & Tuesday) to see if the vehicle was still available - no one replied back. So on Wednesday, I called the Dealership, they said they would check the availability and call me back. The Salesman, Berto called me back and said it was available. I told him I wanted to purchase the vehicle, but couldn't get down to Carlsbad until Friday morning. I asked if I could put a deposit to hold the truck until I could get there on Friday morning to purchase it. Berto checked with his Sales Manager. The Sales Manager said they would hold the truck if I left a $1000.00 deposit. I gave them my credit card number. Berto told me that 4 or 5 other people were interested in the truck too. On Thursday morning, I received a message to call Manny at the Dealership. I called him and he said they couldn't sell me the truck because suddenly it had "Mechanical Problems". I asked what was wrong with the truck? He said it needed a new clutch and there was a problem with the air conditioner. I said the truck only has 25,000 miles on it - it should still be under warranty. They should fix it! Don't they check out the vehicles BEFORE they sell them? He didn't answer. I was on their website while I was talking to him and saw that they had the truck now listed as SOLD! I asked - if the truck had mechanical problems, why is it listed now as "Sold" on their website? I told him that I don't believe him, I said I bet you sold it to someone else, didn't you? He said he was only doing what his Sales Manager told him to do. Then he hung up on me! I checked the CarFax record on the truck and it was checked out not once, but twice by Ken Grody Dealership before it was listed for sale. I sent 6 emails to Mr. Grody as well as Mr. Maletych about the situation - no response. I would not recommend buying a vehicle from Ken Grody Ford!!! They are dishonest! More

Dennis kept me informed and made sure my concerns were addressed immediately. He also took care of a "My Key" issue that Escondido Ford would not discuss. My only issue would be that the time I scheduled was extremely busy (10am on a Friday) and I found entering the service line was a little chaotic. More
