We first went to another Kia dealership in NJ where we were not treated properly. The reps gave astronical prices on financing and leasing and were very aggressive and dishonest with their sales tactics. It left such a bad taste with my husband and I that we decided to shop around some more, so we went out to Karp in LI. From the time we entered the building there was a different feeling, all of the reps as the went about there business carried themselves professionally and were friendly. Our sales rep. was Johnathan and from the beginning he treated us with respect and decency working with us to find the car we wanted. He and Todd Johnson, the sales manager gave us the best price and were very honest and upfront with us. Lastly, even after the car was purchased they were still friendly and helpful :) More

i had a excellent experience buying a car the sales man made it very easy for me. i am from connecticut how ever i work in new york so a google kia and i found karp. i went there the Sept 15, i spoke to made it very easy for me. i am from connecticut how ever i work in new york so a google kia and i found karp. i went there the Sept 15, i spoke to jonathan who gave me so much detail and information about the car that when i got home. io knew exactly what i wanted. but i wasn't sure if i wanted to lease or purchase. so i called on sept 19th to see what time they will be open, i am another awesome sales rep. same on me i forgot the first guy i spoke to so i went to the second sales pre victor. i felt so warm and welcome i rush over there to start the deal. when i say these people or courteous and all friendly, i am telling you my experience was awesome. the did the whole process for me. i was getting a sorento, dark cherry, awd, beige interior. Vic went in search and found the suv. it wasn't awd but he explain to me so much i took the one he found. victor call me pratically every day to give me upate on the vehicle it gets even better on sept 29th when i went back to pick up my new car. i was given a tour of karp. i was introduce my the service team oh my god. all these people are so friendly and had such warm welcome. i am so ready to service the vehicle just to sit in this amazing hospitality. wait wait wait victor even called me twice since i have this vehicle to make sure i was ok with it and i had no problem with the functions. Do not buy a used car from this dealership. Less than 60 days from purchase, the 2008 Saab convertible has developed an electrical malfunction which is a $500+ cost to fix. That is when the salesman/repair department forgot my name and phone number. Emails went unanswered/phone calls not returned. They also charged too much for registation and would not refund the difference. Live and learn. More
It is obvious immediately when dealing with Karp that the owners have made customer service their absolute highest priority. They are warm, attentive, and honest to a fault. They return phone calls and answer emails with enthusiasm. There is ZERO pressure to purchase, and ZERO of any of the usual negative stereotypes often associated with car dealers. I have been back 3 times since my purchase in February to have my Sportage EX serviced (oil change, repair a faulty audio jack on the radio, and install an interior lighting kit) and Matt Weston along with everyone else in the entire service department was just as outstanding. My only less than perfect issue with Karp is with the price paid for the car. I walked in ready to buy, for cash, a fully loaded Sportage EX with a sticker price of $30,625. I was told that since the sales manager wasn't there that night, all they could offer me $300 off. Huh?? On a thirty thousand dollar car? That's a 1% discount. I called back the next day and the sales manager approved $600 off the sticker price. Are you following the math here? That's a whopping 2% discount. Now maybe this still had to do with the effect of supply and demand from the Japanese nuclear crisis a year earlier, and it definitely wasn't helped at all by my wife's insistence that we buy a car that week - hence negating my ability to walk away from the table, but still, when you're spending $30k in cash, you expect a bit more than 2% off sticker. In the end I settled for 2.7% off of sticker. Then when it came down to the final paperwork, I noticed additional charges of $50 for the tank of gas that came in the car, as well as a Dealer's Fee of $75, which is Karp charging you for doing their paperwork - kind of a ridiculous and distasteful charge if you ask me. However everything taken together, I still would recommend Karp in a heartbeat and buy again from them. I would rather pay a few dollars more and have the peace of mind of knowing that there weren't any underhanded or hidden dealings all too common with other dealerships. And their courtesy and service in all my interactions with them since buying the car continue to make me feel great about my purchase. I really feel that they would go above and beyond to help you in any way that they could. When you spend that kind of money you want to feel good about it, not just on the day of purchase with the price paid, but for long afterwards, and Karp gives you that. Michael Diakanwa is a complete gentleman and extremely pleasant to deal with, and Ed McGarr who I only spoke with once or twice was also extremely courteous and helpful. More

When my husband and I walked into the dealership on a Friday night at 830pm, Vic immediately came over to us and was so helpful and spent over 45 minutes with us even though the showroom was getting read Friday night at 830pm, Vic immediately came over to us and was so helpful and spent over 45 minutes with us even though the showroom was getting ready to close, it didn't matter what time it was he wanted us to see exactly what we set out to accomplish that evening, learning about the new KIA OPTIMA and why it really was a great vehicle. Over the next few weeks we played phone tag and eventually purchased our 2013 KIA Optima. So glad that we stopped after dinner that night. Vic made the difference. As I am an existing KARP customer, I can not say enough about the courtesy and excellence of customer care that has been shown. Thanks again. More

Jonathan Hernandez quickly won us over with his pleasant personality & reassurance of finding the right model for us for our budget. He came through with flying colors & did not disappoint. He followed through with emails & kept us informed of any new information we needed during the purchase period. We enjoy our car so much that my father in law went to see Jonathan too & bought the same model Kia Soul. I guess you could say we have become a Kia family. I wouldn't be surprised when my youngest child asks to get one too when she gets her license!Karp Kia has dutifully stayed in touch & they have been accomodating when both cars have had to be serviced. Anyone using Karp will have a pleasant experience! More
