Ok lets start off by saying that everything they say is just to get you in the door so they can show you a horrible presentation on way you need them and why you cant go anywhere else. They also say how gr just to get you in the door so they can show you a horrible presentation on way you need them and why you cant go anywhere else. They also say how great there service department is and how its like the Sam's club of auto repair shops because of the discount. I am writing this review for my mother in-law who went there an got taken complete advantage of "she 84 years old with a 700+ credit score". We live in the south and did not know she wanted a new vehicle or I would have came up and made sure this did not happen. She was taken advantage of by the manager of all people because the sales person she spoke with on the phone was sick. Once she explained what happened when we came up to visit, I went in and acted like a potential customer just to see what they did and looked at the inventory. All there vehicles are over priced with high miles, and they charge 21.5% interest on top of that. I am a very observant person and they happen to leave a piece of paper out that showed how much they paid for the vehicles and how much they had into it, heres a example of how much they are over pricing there vehicles a 2003 Dodge Durango with 123708, they are selling it for $11,995.00 they purchased it for only $3,200 then they put $1,443.93 into the vehicle in reconditioning for a total of 4,643.93 total cost to them. So after you pay $2,578.93 in interest they will make $9,930 on the sale of this vehicle which is crazy on a vehicle that is 2003 and over 120,000 miles. The finance company CNAC is JD Byrider so that is way they will only finance they vehicle through them so they make the $2,578.93 and that is how they act like there service department is cheap and they give you the part for that same price as they get it for your paying for service through your interest rate. I am fortunate enough to have enough money that I am going to pay the car off for my mother so she will only had to make payments for a few months. BY I AM TELLING YOU THAT YOU SHOULD NOT BY A CAR FROM ANY JD BYRIDER BECAUSE THEY ARE ALL THE SAME, A BUNCH OF CONS WHO ARE RIPPING PEOPLE OFF!!! More
I called JD Byrider, completely desperate for a vehicle. I fully detailed my situation, that I had NO transportation, and that I would NOT bother to come down to the dealership if they could not work with m I fully detailed my situation, that I had NO transportation, and that I would NOT bother to come down to the dealership if they could not work with me with a down payment of 500. I was told, that SURE! The 500 down payment would be workable, and to come on down and Id be riding back home. NOT TRUE!!!! After I had paid 35.00 to take a cab to the location, I was told, that I would have to have at LEAST 2000 down on a car!!! I was left with NO WAY TO GET HOME!!!!!!!! HAD TO TAKE A CAB TO ANOTHER CITY!!!!! DONT DEAL with these people they will tell you ANYTHING to get you in the door, and then change up on you as soon as you get there!!! More
Let me start by saying I was very excited at the time of purchase and told my husband that I thought that we had made a good decision. The car was a 2006 Touring Edition P.T. Cruiser. Boy, was I wrong!!! I purchase and told my husband that I thought that we had made a good decision. The car was a 2006 Touring Edition P.T. Cruiser. Boy, was I wrong!!! I purchased my car in Nov, 2011 and today is Jan 6, 2012 and my car has been back a total of 6 times for repair already. The back tail lights went out and which I got pulled over three times in two days. My radio went out and would not come back on. My headlights would not turn back on once off. The back passenger door was supposed to have been fixed, but was not, and will not open from the inside. To top it all off my alternator went out and car smokes, runs hot. Now yesterday Jan 5, 2012 I got my car back from a two day repair of the alternator and smoking. I drove it a total of 30 minutes and had to pull over with my 1 yr old baby and wait for a tow truck and Enterprise to come get me... I AM PISSED BEYOND PISSNESS !!!! Think twice about your purchases from J.D. it sounds good, but I wouldn't suggest you go there. Thanks for your time More
I live in Indiana and came into this store recently looking for a vehicle with better gas mileage than my truck. They were very patient with me and let me test drive four vehicles before I found the pe looking for a vehicle with better gas mileage than my truck. They were very patient with me and let me test drive four vehicles before I found the perfect match for me. They did not hide anything and told me exactly the way things were going to be (their words even matched what was stated on the paperwork). The number one thing that made me buy a car from them was the two year, 24,000 mile warranty they offered. Now, I'm getting double the gas mileage as before and I am very satisfied with the car. More
Essentially, JD Byrider is a loan dealership that gives cars rather than a car dealership that gives loans. If you walk into that, you'll find nothing but a thicket of thorny promises about credit improvem cars rather than a car dealership that gives loans. If you walk into that, you'll find nothing but a thicket of thorny promises about credit improvement. Here's how the experience works: 1) You get a phone call when you apply online saying "you're application sounds great", setting up an appointment at their office. - RED FLAG 1! The online application is basically a 3-5 minute deal where you just tell them about yourself and your job. 2) You get to the appointment, and they basically have a flip chart, a printed out Powerpoint that tells you about the company and how the process works. - Okay. 3) After the flip chart, they basically have you fill out a more in depth by asking you questions and making sure you have proper paperwork like a proof of insurance and a registration on your current car. (At this point, I was getting nervous because little or nothing about finances was talked about other than my job.) 4) After doing that, they make you fill out a sheet filing 12 (!) references, which I think they use for little more than finding out where your car is if you are behind on your payments (more on that later) than anything about your credit. You can't use more than one person per household, so they know more places to look for your car when you're late. (at this point, I had to go get my POI since my insurance company never mailed a new one and the current one was expired.) 5) When I came back, I talked with a very beautiful woman from the bank who was wearing a very low cut shirt for a car dealership. She basically asked me the same questions that Tom did, though Tom said "he'd have to fight with the bank" about my loan. (At this point, I should have asked "What loan? We haven't even looked at a car, let alone a loan!" Hey, that rhymes!) 6) After talking with the well endowed credit representative, there were 3 cars waiting for me right behind the front door of the "dealership". Here, again, I should have said "Wait, can't we walk around the lot? Don't shovel off a car on me because you're trying to get something off the lot." I should mention at this point, there was STILL no mention of financial information, a price (which cannot be found on the car's warranty sheet either) or potential payments. I was told to go drive the three cars around (a 2001 tan Chevy Prizm, a real "winner" (and by winner, I mean a no-frills car with 129,000 miles on it), a 2005 Ford Taurus station wagon (I didn't drive it because I'm a 23 year old guy and don't drive station wagons) and a 2002 Saturn S-Series which was the most pressured on me, and I see why. It drove great.) 7) So, I went test driving. I took the Prizm and then the Saturn down a 55 mph road downtown, driving through a 25, 30, and 35 MPH road, and then on to a highway for five miles. Each car drove good for the year, but there were some basic things wrong with each car such as the fan started to click on something when it was on, and the mirror control not working, lighter not working, et cetera. Nothing out of the ordinary for the years and models. But the place I was going to have an inspection done was closed for the evening. 8) The next day (yesterday), I took the Saturn (not the prizm) to the place, and they said everything checked out except one thing: there was a small oil leak in the bottom of the front of the engine. So, buying it was out of the question. I'm going to cut to the chase: What they do is take all your information, give you a list of cars and then pile you with an unreasonable loan. The payments for the Saturn were started at $100 a WEEK for 8 WEEKS BEFORE my ACTUAL payments started. That's $400 a month, then they dropped to $85 a WEEK for THREE BLEEPING YEARS! That's $340 a month, $4080 a year for three years. For a 2002 Saturn S-Series. For a 100 point increase in my credit score per year. Clearly not an option in the least bit. In fact, I was kind of offended that I had to sit through the whole thing just to get it. Now, I'd be paying $12,320 dollars for a 2002 Saturn S-Series with 63625 miles. Or, I guess I'd be renting a Saturn S-series for as long as I felt like paying it, because you cannot be one day late with payments. If you're late with payment, they repossess. Then, it's $350 to get it back. So assuming one or two repo's (which I assume murder your credit score) on top of that, I'd be buying a car that wouldn't even last me the time it takes to pay it off. If you think JD Byrider is a good idea for you, it's simply not in the least bit UNLESS you need a car like no other. Even then, if you can afford it, you should probably go to another BHPH dealership. But, they're not "a scam" or anything like that, it's just very shady. Everything they do, in writing, is clear and legit. But, they will not let you know what you're going into until you're about ready to sign on a dotted line, which is a shame. They veil their exorbitant payments for cars of questionable quality until they feel like they have you over a barrel. The three guys I worked with and the """hot""" woman were all very nice and helpful, just doing their job to the best of their trained ability. More
Do not purchase a vehicle from JD Byrider you will regret it. I understand the concept of paying more because of your credit being poor, but they take it too far. Upon purchase of the current vehicle I said it. I understand the concept of paying more because of your credit being poor, but they take it too far. Upon purchase of the current vehicle I said I would not buy If I am upside down more than 3,000 on the car, ever!!. It was not acceptable and could not happen. I was promised that I would never be and that in a year I would owe less than the car was worth or close to the value , this would make me capable of trading it in for another one. The only reason I went with them is because of this understanding, I had other options. I trusted them and had more than one person at JD Byrider tell me this was accurate, so it was not just based on the salesman, it was also the finance company and manager. I have had the car a year and a half, it is valued at $1500.00. I tried to trade it in yesterday and they had my balance per my last receipt as 7900.00 and that is ridiculous. It has me upside 6400.00. To make the situation worse, I was approved for the new vehicle and when it came time for the payoff they actually increased the payoff to 8500.00 more than I owe. That caused the new finance company to back out. They will report to the credit agencies but so do TOTE THE NOTE LOTS, the note holding lots actually sell cars closer to there values and will work with a finance companies for payoff. JD Byrider is a scam, they will overcharge and ruin your chances at getting ahead. It is not worth it. They are liars and thieves. The car I found out later was only worth 5K upon purchase but they charged me 12K. Do not trust them, go to a tote the note lot, I cant stress that enough. If you wreck one of their cars you will still owe the remaining balance due to the extreme difference in value vs your note. You will still have a car payment and no car, if you try to get out from under the car they will increase the pay off and you will not be able to get another car for less than 5K down. It IS NOT WORTH IT. The experience has been horrible, please stay far away from JD Byrider.. It will only ruin you, not help. The reality of the situation is I cant get to work without a car, and I cant afford two payments so my credit will be ruined If I wreck the vehicle and have a repossession attached, due to needed another vehicle and affordability. In the end your credit will suffer not improve like they state. More
