Worst experience/staff Ive ever encountered when purchasing As a current customer of Jeep, I am compelled to relay to you my negative experience with the Hudson Jeep Dodge dealership in Jersey City, NJ. On Jan As a current customer of Jeep, I am compelled to relay to you my negative experience with the Hudson Jeep Dodge dealership in Jersey City, NJ. On January 3, 2016, I went visited this dealership with the intention of purchasing a new 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee. At the time, I had a lease on a 2014 Lexus IS350, which ran through August 2016. I spoke to Manny Frietas, one of the sales people in the dealership. I explained my current desire to terminate my Lexus lease and buy the Jeep. In discussing my situation, he explained that, with a current lease incentive of $3,500.00 plus a corporate discount offered through my employer, he could offer me $7,000.00 in total discounts to my purchase price, which would allow his dealership to assume the Lexus lease and pay off the remaining balance. He quoted me a monthly payment of $580. As part of this arrangement, Mr. Freitas also told me that he would have IS350 returned to the Lexus dealership next door and take care of all the required paperwork. Based on these representations, I agreed to these terms and told him I’d be back the following week to purchase the Grand Cherokee and sign over my Lexus. On January 9th, I returned to dealership and this is when the problems began. Mr. Freitas quoted me a significantly higher monthly payment and failed to inform me that the $3,500.00 lease incentive had expired. I reminded him that the dealership’s assumption of my Lexus lease was a condition of my agreement to buy the Jeep. We agreed on a monthly payment, much higher then originally discussed, and Mr. Freitas assured me that he would take care of all the necessary paperwork and notifications and make sure that I would have the necessary paperwork. In short, I would have nothing to worry about. Relying on what he told me, I signed over the Lexus and purchased the Jeep. My current license plates were transferred to the Jeep and, since I live in New York, I was issued a temporary, 20 day non-resident plate and told that the registration would arrive the following week. I was also told that the Lexus would be returned to the Toyota dealership right next to Hudson Jeep so I should cancel any recurring payments to Lexus Financial to avoid an overpayment. After being repeatedly assured not to worry about anything and everything would be taken care of, I drove off, excited to have my new car. On January 21st, I called the dealership to see if the new registration had arrived since the temporary one was about to expire and, despite being told it would be there in a week, it still hadn’t arrived. I had expressed my concern about what would happen if the registration expired and I was simply told "if that happens, don't worry, we will pay for the tickets." At no time did anyone from Hudson Jeep contact the New York State DMV when the registration failed to arrive or let me know that they didn’t have it. Having never done a transaction like this, I was relying on what the dealership told me. On January 28th, I was pulled over by a New York State Trooper while pulling into the train station to go to work. After giving him my license and the now expired temporary registration provided by Hudson Jeep, the officer informed me the plates were still registered to a 2014 Lexus IS350 and there was no record of the Jeep in my name. I was pulled out of the car by the officer, as he claimed that the Jeep could have been stolen. I explained the situation with the two cars and was able to provide him with my valid insurance card, which proved the car was in my name. Despite this, he informed me that it was illegal to be driving a vehicle with "improper plates" and "an unregistered vehicle" and issued me two summonses amounting to approximately $600.00. He also stated that he could have impound the vehicle until it was formally corrected but fortunately didn’t. As a result, I missed three trains into work, arriving over an hour late. Meanwhile, everyone at the train station, who I see every morning, stared at me throughout this 45 minute ordeal. I have never been so embarrassed in my life. I called Jeep immediately and spoke to a manager named John Goncalves who was incredibly rude and said that he would pay the tickets and offered to have new plates issued at my own expense. I declined told him I would be taking care of it myself since they clearly couldn't get it done correctly the first time and didn’t seem to care about the situation they caused for me. I now had to miss a day of work (February 5, 2015) to go to DMV and resolve a situation that the dealership said they would take of in the first place. Unfortunately, I was unable to resolve the issue myself without all of the paperwork and was told by a DMV representative to immediately call Hudson Jeep and have them begin the registration process (since there was no record of them registering the car). I am currently unable to drive my new car as a result. When I arrived home, I made multiple calls to Hudson Jeep, asking to speak to a manager. The receptionist hung-up twice, when I was able to reach someone I was only transferred to John Goncalves voicemail. Feeling incredibly frustrated, I called Chrysler Customer Service and was issued a case number (28695603). The Chrysler representative apologized for the inconvenience, put me on hold and said she would contact Hudson Jeep herself. Twenty minutes later, she comes back on the line only to tell me she was unable to reach a manager as well and left a voice message. When John finally returned my call, he is incredibly rude and unapologetic. Basically, making excuses and avoiding all of my questions and concerns. To make this situation worse, on February 5, 2016, I received an email and phone call from Lexus Financial informing me they have not received my January 2016 payment resulting in a late fee of $36.95. I immediately called Lexus and explained to them I had assigned the lease to Hudson Jeep on January 9th and they were responsible for paying off the lease and returning the car at that time. The Lexus Financial representative informed me she had no record of such a payment, that the January payment was 30 days overdue, which is reported to the credit bureaus. The irony is that I was specifically told to stop making my lease payments. She suggested I call the Jeep dealership to get this resolved. She also informed me that the Lexus was not returned until January 21, 2016, which is 12 days after Hudson Jeep took possession. Apparently, Hudson Jeep also failed to notify Lexus Financial that it was now the lease owner further exposing me to additional liability. Now, I am coming up on the February Lexus payment, another late fee and a negative impact on my credit report. When I brought this to John’s attention in our February 5, 2016 conversation, he said the payment was sent. I asked him to please provide a receipt or some type of payment confirmation…I’m still waiting for that receipt. I feel that Hudson Jeep has treated me horribly. In the month that I’ve been doing business with Hudson Jeep, I’ve had to deal with a sales person who tried to bait and switch me on the price, failed to follow through on almost all of the representations that were made to me and not gotten any help or support by management. As a result, I’ve gotten two tickets, negative reporting on my credit, demands for payment and late fees on a car I don’t even own anymore and missed work on top of the incredible amount of stress this has caused me over the past two weeks. All of this caused because of the negligence and poor service standards of Hudson Jeep. I’m hoping that they are not representative of your dealerships. Unlike the staff at Hudson Jeep, which deals with these issues everyday, this process was new to me and I relied completely on what they told me, which was mainly not to worry about anything. That reliance was obviously a mistake. More

Let me start off by saying, the staff here are friendly, not pushy and they are willing to work with customers. The process could not have been any easier and stress-free, thanks to our salesman, Carlos Vega and his manager, John Goncalves. Carlos is friendly, very knowledgeable, patient and thorough. He really made sure my car was the right fit for me. He made my purchasing experience extremely easy, enjoyable and an exciting one to remember. Mirsenit Vargas, my financing representative, made sure that I had any and all relevant information I needed to make the best, most informed financing decision. I would come here again in a heartbeat and have already recommended it to people. The whole team at Hudson Chrysler are wonderful to deal with. More

Very satisfied I stopped at Hudson Jeep first simply because it was convenient to my home and I loved the styling of the latest Jeep vehicles. With us just moving to I stopped at Hudson Jeep first simply because it was convenient to my home and I loved the styling of the latest Jeep vehicles. With us just moving to the area it was time for a new vehicle. I stepped out of my vehicle into the parking lot and was met with a smile by Mr. Antonio Francisco. He introduced himself and could not have been more helpful. He began getting the basic information needed to value the car. I was prepared with my market research and the "must have list" from my wife, so we quickly discussed our needs and what vehicles we thought would fit our needs best. Tony took down the necessary info for test drives, and we very quickly headed into the lot with several sets of keys. After test driving a new Grand Cherokee, we checked out a couple of other vehicles. I made an initial decision on a vehicle and we headed inside to work on terms. I have to say, I didn't think Hudson Jeep could get me to the price I needed for that Grand Cherokee... but Tony and John did their job well. We agreed on the terms quickly after John and Tony took the time to discuss in detail the pros and cons of buy vs lease. With me having my own financing I ended up with a great new grand cherokee. The entire process from door to door was quicker than the other two dealership experiences i have had in the past three years. I'll be coming back to see Tony about another purchase when the time comes. More
