Excellent sales experience, ensure u get the right folks. Been in a market for an MDX for a while, I have had some questionable experience with many dealers. The 5 star rating is for the professional approach that Kiley Cullotta had. I had to deal with some other sales team members they all are good, some good folks to look out for are Sam and Brian. Sam ensures he takes time to explain the product in detail, in fact he takes way more time that I really wanted to know the features :-) Brian has excellent knowledge of the Acura product line and know show to give a good demo. Despite all the positives and the excellent rating, I did find one person a bit abrasive, I do not want to mention names. The sales teams role is to sell the car and being in sales I do get the aggressive approach by that person. That being said I would highly recommend this Dealer for the professionalism showed by Kiley Cullotta and his willingness to show up home in 10 minutes to address a minor issue. I also want to mention that they processed my paperwork upfront and I had to spend very little time at the dealership on the vehicle pickup date. More

My experience has been consistent: the Sales Department does not care at all about building a lasting relationship with you - they are in it exclusively for the short-term prospect of getting your money, and if there is any prospect of their making another nickel off of you, their consistent actions have led me to believe they are willing to dive down the slippery slope of marginal integrity in order to get that nickel. Examples: Negotiating a price and then telling you they can't honor the price if it is a lease (3 other dealerships I have worked with HAVE honored the negotiated price as the basis for a lease); enticing you to come in, with high expectation that you can trade in your leased car for a newer car at an equal or lower price "or we will give you a full tank of gas"...and then they can't lease you a comparable car for an equal or lower price, and they won't give you a tank of gas (happened twice). This said, the service department has been highly reliable, customer-centric, and has done very good work. This dealership has had a near monopoly on luxury cars in Chapel Hill (they also have the BMW dealership, but I haven't worked with them), but with new dealerships in Durham and more accessible dealerships in Cary, it is absolutely worth it to buy/lease the car elsewhere, where you feel valued and not cheated. I will never purchase/lease another car from Performance Acura, and I have consistently told my story (above) to anybody who will ask. More

I hate this place 22 years old, starting a new job, first time purchasing a car. Brian made me feel so confident in my purchase of the TSX, reassuring me the car was in 22 years old, starting a new job, first time purchasing a car. Brian made me feel so confident in my purchase of the TSX, reassuring me the car was in great condition after their 805984 point check or whatever it is. Fast forward a couple weeks to a clanking sound in the back right wheel. The customer service rep tells me to wait until my oil change (and reminds me that Acuras have a very long oil life) before bringing it in to get it checked out. Well the technician scolds me for waiting so long to bring it in, the wheel is warped because I was "braking while driving through water puddles in curves" WHAT?! No. In just a couple weeks I managed to ruin a wheel by driving my car? Called Brian and asked for help, who all of a sudden didn't remember me. And tried to convince me whatever was wrong with the car had to be my own fault because of their 84039853 point check. Because people never lie, right? Such BS and they charged me over $300 to fix it. OF COURSE it didn't fall under that expensive warranty they sold me. So much for the excited feeling of being young, making your first big purchase, and starting a new job! Side note--I had mechanic friends look at the wheel and could tell right away the rotors had been put on too tight. Causing the wheel to warp and rust. Later on down the road, I had to have some body work done and a windshield replaced. Both the bodywork guys AND the windshield guy showed me places that proved the car had been wrecked in the past. And that whoever fixed it cut corners to try to cover it up. NOT a trustworthy dealership. Just want that money, and ridiculous amounts of it. The overcharging and hard sells every time you walk in the door are insane. Hate this place. More

I have met several of the mechanics and all have been courteous, experienced and professional. I would expect to purchase another Acura at some point. You cannot go wrong with Performance Acura. More
Second bad experience with Performance Acura I had been looking at Acura MDXs for about a month online and shared my contact information with a website that shared this info with Acura dealers. I was contacted via email by Danny Feagans at Performace Acura in Chapel Hill who ask me if he could help me. I told him I was in the market for a new MDX and I needed a ballpark figure of a price difference with a trade of my vehicle. He ask me to send him some photos and the VIN number from my vehicle which I did. He emailed after receiving the photos and said he would contact me on Wednesday. As of Friday night I still had't heard from him. I went to Leith Acura in Cary the following Saturday and purchased a new MDX. I figured I would get the same type of customer service from Performance Acura as I did from Mr. Feagans. More
Buyer Beware!!! I originally visited this location while in town on business. My original interest was in a 2016 Acura MDX, trading in a Mercedes Benz GLK. The manage I originally visited this location while in town on business. My original interest was in a 2016 Acura MDX, trading in a Mercedes Benz GLK. The manager reviewed the VIN and later the pictures and descriptions that I sent via email (aftewards), and appeared to stand by his offer of $37,000 for my vehicle. My wife and I took a day off work the following week and visited the dealership by appointment (Trade-In 2014 Mercedes with 12k). After seeing the vehicle, the appraisal had dropped by a staggering -$3,000. With all the advanced pricing and merchandising tools available to the industry, how could an appraisal be this far off? It would not. Dealers purchase vehicles every day using online auction methods and never "seeing" the vehicle until it arrives via transport. I think we both would agree the car did not fall short of my description to you, nor did the 20 pictures I sent in advance either of driving an hour and half to this location. This was just an effort to "Con" someone into an appointment by a desperate organization to meet it's new car targets. Your practice of deceptive sales practices continues to undermine the efforts by so many dealers who work hard every day to improve and build upon relationships with car shoppers. As someone who has experience of over 21 years in the industry, It was insulting and undermines the honest work provided by dealers every day to build credibility for the industry. More
