kent was very friendly, personable, and understanding. but beyond that. he knew what it was going to take to make me and my wife happy, and accepted nothing less. there were challanges, but he did whate but beyond that. he knew what it was going to take to make me and my wife happy, and accepted nothing less. there were challanges, but he did whatever it took. he had a quick understanding of the type of vehicle i was looking for as well as the options that my wife preferred and took me right to it. ok , he knew where it was on the lot.... then he took the time to explain every knob and button on it. very knowledgeable about the vehicle he was selling and made sure the options were what i wanted or needed. he explained the differrences in vehicle pricing and how it would effect payments, so we could get the most and the best for the least. then , in what seemed like no time flat, the financing department found fantastic financing that was right on target for the payment i was looking for. i got what i wanted, for the price i was looking for, in a short afternoon. effortless car buying! thank you kent and the whole team at capital.!!! I was in the market for a used Volvo 240 (yes; I know; a very old car, and not one that one normally aspires to have) to have as a second car and as a sort of a restoration project. I went on Cars.com and set my range pretty far out, since 240's are not exactly the most plentiful of vehicles. I happened to come across one on Capital's lot that had 158,000 miles on it, so I sent an inquiry in on it. I also clicked on the link to Capital's website and did a little research on the dealership to make sure they were reputable. I live in New Jersey, so if I was going to make a 5-6 hour trip to purchase a special vehicle, I wanted to make sure these people were straight up. I came across Kelley Rourke's name on the website; she was listed as an internet sales representative, so I decided to send her a message with all the information she would need to get back to me, as well as all the information on the car. This was on a Saturday night; I figured I would be hearing from her sometime that Monday around 10-11:00. Nope. Maybe Tuesday......no....not Tuesday. As a matter of fact, it took her quite some time to even acknowledge me....9 DAYS, IN FACT!!!! By this time, I figured that the car had been sold or wholesaled,as she was sending me "blow off" emails to make it look like she was doing her job and providing *cough cough ahem* "great" customer service after what I can guess was deliberately dragging her feet on a lead that she thought was some "poor" bum all the way up in New Jersey who wanted a 22 year old piece of junk and was likely only playing on the internet after a Saturday night looking at porn online. News flash.....the last time I checked, I was a Public Safety Officer at a county college up here in New Jersey making $45,000 a year, a part time armed security guard making another $30,000 a year, college educated, and the owner of a 2009 Toyota Camry SE THAT I JUST PAID OFF!!! I don't think "bum" or "poor" are accurate descriptors here.....and the porn thing; not exactly my cup of tea. Anyway, by the second "blow off" email in which she failed to provide me any pertinent information, as I had requested, or even reach out to me via the telephone to give me a price or even let me know the vehicle was still available, I sent her a very strongly worded response letting her know that I was not at all happy about her very obvious apathy to my inquiries. Her response to this......well; we're still waiting on that one. Judging by her track record, and the time in which I sent it, I should be hearing something any day now! I sent an email to the Dealer Principal, Mr. Poulos, as well, to express my dissatisfaction, and he has very obviously taken no interest in the fact that a cash buyer with $4,000 in hand, ready to possibly make a trip down to Virginia to buy a car from him was treated like something on the front lawn that was ALPO the previous morning, if you know what I mean. Now, will I ever buy a car from Capital? No....especially after this, and additionally not likely, considering the distance between my home and them. Will my neighbors ever be considering a purchase from them, being that they are so far away? Highly unlikely. However, if you are reading this, you are likely considering a purchase from them, and educated enough to know to steer clear of them. If they treated me like this, who is to say they won't treat YOU like this? I was obviously pre-qualified and judged sight unseen, so this is not obviously an organization you want to buy from. As for Ms. Rourke, I'm going to guess that she didn't learn the part of the sales process that says that EVERYONE IS A BUYER, and she must've fallen asleep during the film on professionalism and prompt follow up! More

I lived at Lake Gaston NC for several years, and all my business was with Sadler Chev. in Emporia. When the dealership was sold I transfered my business dealings to Capital GM in Powhatan because it was m business was with Sadler Chev. in Emporia. When the dealership was sold I transfered my business dealings to Capital GM in Powhatan because it was much closer to my new location in Amelia Va. The entire staff at Capital has been very friendly and knowledgeable. I have bought and traded several cars and trucks from them. I wouldn't go anywhere else for service or a new vehicle even though GM as a company is getting a lot of bad publicity relating to it's govt. dealings and out of the country dealings namely communist China. To GM Corp. You need to reconsider your dealings with Communist countries. There is a growing dislike by real America(working class)Patriots. Jim Lennick Corporate Pilot More

I just purchased my second vehicle from Capital Chevrolet, and both experiences have been great. They were more than fair in the appraisal of my trade, and they maintained a low pressure approach which I appreciated. We have also dealt with Chris in the service department since buying our Suburban in 2008, and he has always gone out of his way to take care of any problems. More
