PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING FROM ANY GRIECO DEALERSHIP! !! My wife and I began our search for our next vehicle in early June. I called Grieco Hyundai to inquire about the 2025 Santa Fe. Kyle, the sales !! My wife and I began our search for our next vehicle in early June. I called Grieco Hyundai to inquire about the 2025 Santa Fe. Kyle, the salesman with whom I was working, was very patient and understanding as we worked to get the best payment possible. After two weeks, we ultimately decided to lease a 2025 Hyundai Palisade instead. Overnight on the night we agreed to a deal over text message, our bank accounts were compromised and someone fraudulently emptied all of our accounts. I called Kyle to let him know that the money we were putting down on the vehicle was gone and that we would have to walk away from the deal but that as soon as we had the money back in our account, we would be back. That same morning, I spoke with a bank representative and was told that policy is to tell fraud victims that getting their money back could take as many as ten business days but that since our issue was caught within 24 hours, that it could take as few three business days. I explained this to Kyle. He insisted that we still come in and sign the lease paperwork the next day so that once we have the money back in our account, we can come back with the payment. He even offered the option to sign the lease paperwork and take the car home that day as long as we had the down payment in by the end of the month. We declined this option because it didn't feel right. We did, however, decide to go to the dealership to get the paperwork signing out of the way. Upon arrival, we were introduced to Jorge who would be finalizing everything for us because that morning Kyle was promoted. With a 10:30 appointment, we waited two hours to even see the finance department and did not leave the dealership until 1:15. Regardless, we walked away with a signed lease deal and agreed that as soon as we had the money back in our account, we would return to make the down payment and to take the vehicle which had been marked with a SOLD sign in the showroom. After three business days, no money had been returned to our account. As a good faith measure, I had offered to bring a portion of the down payment (that I could borrow it from someone), but Kyle said the dealership wanted it all. I could not agree to that. Then on Friday, I received a text from Kyle, not Jorge who was now the salesperson for this deal, stating that there was a sales event that weekend and that there was a chance someone could show interest in the car we signed for. I let Kyle know I was unhappy about this, and saw it as a passive aggressive threat given that he was aware of our situation. In the meantime, because I was told to not make my lease payment on the vehicle they would be paying off, I was hit with a late payment. On Sunday of the weekend sales event, I receive a text from Jorge saying that they sold the car. I was angry. Jorge gave me a "don't shoot the messenger" type of an excuse. Couldn't they have called me to explain the situation and see if I would be agreeable to letting the car be sold to someone else? Instead, they sold it out from under us and sent a text to tell me. On Monday, I reached out to the general manager and Hyundai's USA corporate office. I spoke to the GM of Grieco Hyundai who explained that because I didn't fulfill my end of the lease agreement, they were within their rights to sell the car despite having a signed lease agreement. He explained that they only hold a vehicle for 48 hours, a policy that was never explained to me. He proceeded to offer to find me another vehicle. I told him he could try, but after much thought, I decided to look at other Hyundai dealerships that were direct competitors of Grieco. Because I am limited to only so many words, please read on in my next review for what came next. It gets worse! More

I heard back from Hyundai corporate the day before I heard from the Grieco GM. The Hyundai corporate representative opened an investigation into dealership fraud and told me at the very least that what they did makes Hyundai look bad. After a few days, I was contacted by the same representative assigned to my case who said I would be hearing from the dealership to make this right. After all, I wasted three hours signing a lease deal that they simply threw out the window the first chance they had to make money (assuming I would just take another vehicle off their lot). Here I am two weeks later and I have heard nothing from the dealership. I'll be giving Hyundai corporate a call back about this since ether seem to care about the image of the Hyundai name. I found exactly what we were looking for at Nucar Hyundai of North Kingstown, made the down payment, and drove away with the vehicle a couple of days later. This may seem to be more of an advertisement in favor of Nucar, but it goes to show how dishonest Grieco is. I learned through Nucar Hyundai's transparency that Grieco was not being transparent about the price they were offering me. Within minutes of being at their dealership, Nucar showed me the computer screen in which they input the vehicle's cost, rebates, down payment, trade-in value, payoff, money factor, their profit, and my monthly payment. The payment was only $12 more per month than what Grieco quoted me, yet Grieco was giving me $2000 more for my trade (which equates to approximately $60/month in a monthly lease payment). So, why wasn't my payment at Grieco $60 less than Nucar? It was explained to me at Nucar that, although completely legal, to make up for some of the additional money Grieco was offering for my trade, dealerships manipulate the money factor (interest rate) so they get some of that money back. For example, if we were approved for a 6% rate, they change it to 7% or 8% to make up the extra money it appears they're giving the buyer for their trade. I'm so glad I decided to go elsewhere to buy from a transparent and honest dealership. BOTTOM LINE: AVOID ANY GRIECO DEALERSHIPS AT ALL COSTS! They are xxxxxxxx who care more about lining their pockets than forging long-term relationships with their customers/potential customers. The GM told me his job is to attract new customers while retaining current customers. Well, he offered me NOTHING for the miscommunication, wasted time, misinformation, and inability to stand by the agreement his nephew Kyle made with me. (Yes, Kyle is the GM's nephew! Hmmm, nepotism?) His only offer was to go find another vehicle for us which would be a win-win for their dealership. They get me as a customer by leasing a vehicle through them, and they sell the car we signed for to someone else, thus gaining them as a customer. Not to mention, even upon an investigation by Hyundai's corporate office where the dealership was directed to contact me to "make things right," they still have not done so. It amazes me that The Grieco family's slimy ways of doing business attract so many people. I guess that only speaks to their lack of transparency in pricing. I just hope that people take the time to read about my experience to see that Grieco will do and say whatever necessary in the moment to get your business. Honesty, good communication, patience, and transparency go a lot farther with me than a lower price. Perhaps Grieco dealerships should take note. I'll end with some advice if you are going to purchase and/or lease with Grieco: If financing, get approved through a bank or credit union so they can't play their games with your money. Also, don't trust anything they say and question everything they tell you and ask to see every detail on how they're arriving at your monthly payment. Finally, save yourself grief and shop somewhere that's honest and makes you feel valued. That is NOT a Grieco owned dealership! More

The only reason I tolerated this was because the dealer had the exact model I wanted, on the lot. Sam, the sales associate, was very pleasant and accommodating, the finance officer was fantastic. It was the used car manager and the dealership manager who would not craft a deal according to my request. I remember saying, several times, "you are killing me!" each time the sales associate returned from talking with the manager. The real kicker here is that the sales associate asked me to rate the experience all 10's on the survey I would be receiving. I wanted to be honest in my ratings, so rather than rate them all 10's I chose not to rate them at all but the associate kept pestering me to complete the survey. So I did, being truthful in my opinion of the entire experience. They were not happy about my assessment. I told them they should learn from this and change some of their tactics and policies. Needless to say they ignore or disregarded any attempt to get in touch with anyone, in writing. They still owe me a tonneau cover, which I am sure I will never receive. More
