Great Sales Experience Overall Was shopping around the Chicago area for a new 2015 Subaru Legacy. With the options I wanted, these aren't easy to come by just sitting on the lot. Made initial contact with dealerships going through the internet sales channel, getting prices where vehicles close in spec were available. I wasn't impressed with the prices being offered. Gerald Subaru North Aurora is close to my house but they had none available for sale. I'd contacted Dan Clark, the Internet Manager. I wanted to test drive a Legacy and he confirmed they did have some service loaners available and I could come take a ride. So I showed up and took a ride with Mohamed Aly. I explained exactly what I was looking for. Dan did some digging and found they had one coming in for delivery in a couple of weeks, but it didn't 100% meet my needs. Dan found another local area dealer also getting one in a couple of weeks, that exactly matched my needs. They gave me a price on this vehicle and I was completely impressed! I asked them to try and make the trade with the other dealer. The next day, they confirmed the car was mine. I came and paid the deposit as soon as possible. I was supposed to have to wait a couple of weeks, but got an early call from Mohamed stating my vehicle was at the other dealer. Mohamed personally took the Gerald trade vehicle to the other dealer, and picked up my new Legacy and drove it back to Gerald himself! I came in that night to make the deal. There were no surprises on the price, fees, or financing. I didn't even bother trying to get a better price. The price was already great and the experience with everyone was amazing, so why would I? We made the deal and I finished off with Ferris Spikener, which was also a simple, efficient process. They even gave me an additional protection plan with the vehicle for some cosmetic issues for a few years. That was awesome too! And they let my 15 month old run around, scream, and gave her a balloon. :) When I went to take delivery, we found some scratches on the vehicle. I had about 6 people coming out to look at the scratches and try and resolve the issue right then and there. A buff was initially attempted, but wasn't able to fix the scratches 100%. Everyone promised that this would be taken care of, they gave me a new "we owe" contract, and stated I'd be contacted within a week to schedule the scratch repairs. I received a call from Jacqueline within the week to schedule my repairs. I also mentioned to Jacqueline that I found more similar scratches on the roof, and that I have an issue with the dashboard looking warped. She stated no problem and they'd take care of it all when I come in next week. I also get a loaner when I come in for this visit, which is a bonus! I will update this review after my visit next week regarding this service. But otherwise, the sales process and price was a great experience. I'd absolutely buy again from these guys, and highly recommend them! More
Absolutely Offended I went in to buy a car on recommendations from a family friend and the sales manager was atrocious. I was absutely offended by him telling me if I wanted the amount on my trade I should just "sell it to my bank". Why would I sell a car to my bank that is loaning it to me? They already own the title. And to suggest that I was crazy to think any dealer would give me the price on my trade was also insulting. I brought in numbers from another dealer and asked to have them matched or bettered and instead of declining politely he said "then why didn't you take the deal with them?" I am seriously offended at the way he insulted my intelligence and tried to look down on me. I will NEVER go back and I would never tell anyone to go there. More

I purchased a 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek in early January, and the car has been in the shop twice since I bought it. I first brought the car back to Gerald Subaru which is where I purchased it, and they were and the car has been in the shop twice since I bought it. I first brought the car back to Gerald Subaru which is where I purchased it, and they were unable to fix the problem and unable to explain what was wrong with the car. Because they did such a poor job with the service and explanation of the service, I have since chosen to take the car (which has less than 1000 miles on it) to another dealership and they have been more helpful, however, the problem still exists. The salesperson that sold me the car emailed me one week after I bought the car to check-in, and I responded back explaining how unsatisfied I was that I had to take a brand new car in for service at 500 miles. I never got a response back which tells me that he didn't care. I would NOT recommend Gerald Subaru of North Aurora to anyone, and I will be going out of my way to make sure NONE of my friends and family ever buy a Subaru because of the awful experience and lack of knowledge/compassion that exists at Gerald Subaru and Subaru overall. More

I appreciated how quickly Dan Clark replied to online questions and the clarity of the information I was given by him and the others I dealt with there. Even though the Evanston Subaru is 5 minutes questions and the clarity of the information I was given by him and the others I dealt with there. Even though the Evanston Subaru is 5 minutes from my home, they were not willing to negotiate on the price at all. Dan was able to give me what I wanted at the price I wanted, so to me, it was worth the hour it took to drive from Evanston to Aurora, and I would encourage others to do the same! Chris Taylor was extremely helpful in finalizing what I wanted and Rene Peyton did a very thorough and professional job helping me with the paperwork. When we discovered that my I-Pass transponder and city sticker were still on the windshield, Chris had them mailed to me right away. I LOVE my new Forester and am so glad I went to Gerald Subaru to get it!!! More
So this was my first time buying a car at a dealership. I was only ever given vehicles as hand me downs or bought from private Sellers.
