We have two Subarus (a Crosstrek and a Forester), both of which have ONLY had service done BY Gerald Subaru. I wish we had an option to add an additional 36000 mile service plan for both vehicles but that doesn't seem to be an option. Regardless, with the quality of the work that has been done so for we WILL be staying with Gerald Subaru for further service More

Scott and Kent Dave Gonzalez, Scott Thompson and Kent Parker worked on my car. Dave listened to my concerns about the symptoms my car was exhibiting. Scott and Kent performed the repairs needed to get my car back in working order. When I drove my car out of the lot, I muted the radio and heard absolutely nothing (as in no worrisome sounds like it was exhibiting before) which made me extremely happy. My wheel bearing issue was addressed and my brakes and rotors were replaced. Count me in as a satisfied customer. Thank you! More

Plays Games Car Buying Experience & Trade-in I waited awhile to post this review, but I wrote it when it was fresh. Our day at Gerald Subaru involving an int Car Buying Experience & Trade-in I waited awhile to post this review, but I wrote it when it was fresh. Our day at Gerald Subaru involving an internet quote, and trade-in incident. This became an incredibly stressful day, and this experience warrants a review. I know people don't care about losing sales these days because money changes hands all the time, but you lost our business. I came in as an educated internet user. I did my homework. I knew the value of my car at the current market, instant cash value, and trade-in value from NADA, Edmunds, CarGurus, KBB. Not just the trade-in value for my trim level, but models below as well. We came here because they had the best online price quote and a lifetime warranty. The girl we worked with was nice. Greeted us at the door, asked if we here to meet with anyone. I asked for Erika or Michael. They were both unavailable. Anyway...We did our test drive. She interviewed us basically. What we do, why were buying, etc. We wanted to buy the car, we told her we had a trade-in, but when we got to the financing part, she forgot to appraise the car first. Anyway, her manager came up and we were working out financing, and then got to the point of "What about our trade-in?" and he was kinda rude about where we were into the process, and that it was all irrelevant. It wasn't a big deal to us, whatever it's gotta be done. So, she writes down info, doesn't bother with the trim level. Takes us outside to look at the car, and I knew the games had begun. She walked around the car, and I didn't care at that point because I knew what my car was worth and that it was in excellent condition, at worst case, good condition. We go inside, eventually, she comes back with an appraisal. To say the least, I was floored and insulted greatly. She came back with a price that was for a base model, in rough condition. She did say it was auction price, whatever, but I knew instant cash value for my car was $1,700 more. By the way...Cash value is greatly less than Trade-in value. Instant cash value for my car was $8,900. I had all my information at the tip of my fingers on a spreadsheet on my phone. I said nothing about that. I did mention that it was lower than their website that had Kbb on it. She then told me that they use Edmunds, and I turned to my husband and said, of course, its the lowest value. Heres the kicker, even so, the # they offered was still for a rough trade So, she leaves to run back to her sales manager, and comes back with "well with taxes your trade-in is..." I didn't want to hear it. I broke. I was insulted. I had on my spreadsheet a self-made calculator to total the price based on trade-in value and adjusted the price according to the tax break. I know what it does, it didn't matter to me if the value of my trade wasn't there. I understood what they were trying to do. By the way, They even have KBB(Kelly blue book) on their dealer website where you can value your own car. It doesn't make any sense. My car was valued at 11,200 on THEIR WEBSITE!!!! I was prepared to take $10,500, then pay the remaining amount on my trade into my purchasing price. It could not be any less, and that's what I and my husband agreed on before coming here. We had a check coming in the mail from our credit union to pay for their SUV in full, including remaining pay off, and taxes. They blew it. Back to the story, she tells us that they didn't want our car, then a dude walks up and grabs the keys and said they had a customer that has been wanting to test drive this... obviously a blatant lie, as they have many ascents, and this car was not prepped yet as it still had plastic on seats and everything, and had just been pulled from the back as it recently arrived. That was the 3rd strike, and I wasn't going to play their game. I decided to leave right then and there. As we were walking out, my husband was lagging behind as the sales manager Jay was telling us to go sell our car to CarMax, then we can come back and buy their car. I was infuriated. I told my husband we'd sell the car ourselves cause I knew what it's market worth. My husband said, well since we're close by, we'll go over to CarMax to see what they'd say. I told him that if their offer was reasonable, we were not coming back even if we decided to sell it. So we headed over to CarMax. They appraised our car. The guy brings up our car, shows us everything is mechanically OKAY, and the car is in EXCELLENT condition. Price comes up. $11,000 for a 7-day offer for cash or trade-in. My fury solidified in my soul. We conversed our options and decided 100% together that we were not going back to Gerald Subaru. Then we decided to go to Brilliance Subaru where we purchased our 2019 Ascent Limited for the price we wanted, at the trade we wanted. More

I was able to get in and out of the dealership buying a new car with a trade-in and it took less than 3 hours. Everyone that we came in contact with was happy, friendly and informative. Given that I am a Costco member the price was extremely competitive and the selection of vehicles available far exceeds any of the competitors in the Chicagoland market. Darell is what all in this profession should strive to be. More
Bait and Switch Tactics on Used Car Pricing Buyer Beware, if I could give them zero stars I would. -This dealer uses bait and switch tactics to lure customers in on their used cars and then once Buyer Beware, if I could give them zero stars I would. -This dealer uses bait and switch tactics to lure customers in on their used cars and then once you go to close the deal they tell you they can't honor the price they told you. They tell you they have to ask more for it now because they got the final bill on the cost to certify the vehicle which is more than they thought. That is the story that Francisco and Jay at North Aurora Subaru fed me tonight after Francisco had told me prior they would be able to get me into this car for the price I was looking for. I even spoke with Lee, the sales manager who had been working with Francisco on the price for this Forester for me last night and he told me they would still be able to honor the price I was looking to get it at because they had taken into account the amount of repairs and the cost to certify the car. Jay, tonight's sales manager, brought out a pile of papers to show me all the repairs and the cost to certify it, to try to substantiate them raising the price on the car tonight when I show up to purchase it. Like they haven't done this for enough years to know when they list a car they will be able to cover their costs to certify it before they post a price on it. Well Francisco, I guess this will be your first negative review. More
Quality repairs, but signs of declining customer service **THIS REVIEW HAS BEEN REVISED** I have purchased three Outbacks from Gerald Subaru and have had all of our service on these cars performed by Gera **THIS REVIEW HAS BEEN REVISED** I have purchased three Outbacks from Gerald Subaru and have had all of our service on these cars performed by Gerald Subaru of North Aurora. In the last year, they have revised their service loaner program and now only provide free loaners for warranty work. Non-warranty loaners must be rented, but the daily rate is reasonable at $19.99/day. (This is a correction from my original review.) Still, I am disappointed that the loaner program has become less generous than in the past. Last week, I called about a problem with removing my key from the ignition switch (a known issue with these cars) and explained that my vehicle was within 500 miles of its 36K warranty, but had it with me on vacation near Green Bay, WI, so I couldn't be certain that it would still be below 36K by next week. I was told that I should have it serviced in Green Bay unless I had an extended warranty. The dealer in Green Bay was friendly, but had no openings until June due to the airbag recall. They suggested that a call to Subaru North America would resolve the problem and provided me a number to call. Indeed, Subaru was accommodating and promised to honor the warranty. In my opinion, as a longtime customer, Gerald Subaru should have either offered to cover the repair if Subaru refused to cover it, offered to contact Subaru on my behalf, or at least suggest that I call Subaru, but none of these occurred. Subsequent to posting my original version of this review, the service manager from Gerald contacted me to apologize and to assure that my repair would be handled, even if Gerald was not compensated by Subaru. I appreciated the sentiment, but I already had assurances from Subaru North America that they would honor the warranty. The service was performed earlier today in the same friendly and professional manner I have always experienced in the past at Gerald Subaru of North Aurora. More
