I lost a key to my 2022 Volvo which I have on lease. I called Smithtown Volvo because though it was not the dealership I leased my car from, it was closer to where I have moved. My car was brought in by Volvo On-Call due to a problem with the brakes. Its a 2021 XC90 T6 and out of nowhere it was making an intermittent grinding noise. I was assisted by Nash and Will , who were ext with the brakes. Its a 2021 XC90 T6 and out of nowhere it was making an intermittent grinding noise. I was assisted by Nash and Will , who were extremely cordial to me. Will had explained that this was a rare but not unheard of occurrence and if the pads are found to be below standards when inspected, replacement should be under warranty. I had asked that my car be worked on by a specific technician, Nino Gambino. I have known Nino for decades. He is the consummate professional at his work, and for that reason I have followed him from the dealerships he has worked at prior over the last decades. Nino treats his customers with pride, like his extended family, For that reason people have such an allegiance to him. The car was fixed immediately. Nino found a flawed brake pad that had scarred a rotor. The repair was done impeccably, both front pads and rotors were replaced, on both sides, not just the damaged one, even though the car only had 15k miles. I credit that to both Nino and the service writers, for that I am extremely grateful. The work was completed the first business day after arrival, with no cost to me. I was not even recommended other work or " upsell" as might have existed at other dealerships... Nino and the service writers should be commended for a job well-done. with my appreciation. More
