Hudson was awesome, he made the sale easy and then called me the next day to make sure everything was good. Hudson followed up with me twice the first week and then once a week for the next two weeks. The se me the next day to make sure everything was good. I really like this dealership. We service both of our vehicles there and the service writers are knowledgeable and friendly. They honor their appointments and typically have the vehicle out of there by vehicles there and the service writers are knowledgeable and friendly. They honor their appointments and typically have the vehicle out of there by the time they promise. One approach they have to service is that they start with the bare bones quote and then find other things that may need attention during their inspection. it is upselling, but in a very unpressure way, but still if they are 90% sure that something going to need to be replaced during a service interval, they should probably just put that in the initial quote rather than adding it in later. It kinda feels opportunistic. Beyond that little criticism I think they do a great job. Will continue to service there, even though its not necessarily the closest Toyota dealer to our home. More
We purchased 2 used Priuses from Dch Toyota of Torrance in 10/2010, and a new Camry from their predecessor in 2000. SALESMAN: Mr. Hudson Lee initially sold the first Prius to my spouse. I wanted her to in 10/2010, and a new Camry from their predecessor in 2000. SALESMAN: Mr. Hudson Lee initially sold the first Prius to my spouse. I wanted her to only consider a new Toyota. Mr. Lee asked her what her main use would be for the car, and some other pertinent questions while he showed her the cars that I thought were appropriate. Then he suggested she consider a used Prius that Dch had just received. His reasoning was that it had car pool stickers and would shave off 15 to 30 minutes from her daily 1-way freeway commute because she could use the car pool lane. Mr. Lee was honest and cautioned her that the stickers might not be valid after January, 2011. She bought it and was elated when she noted she had shaved around 40 minutes off her daily roundtrip commute. She was getting 48 to 51 MPG on each round trip, and she had more energy after her commute home. Mr. Lee had identified the perfect vehicle for her needs. Within 2 weeks of her purchase she convinced me to ask Mr. Lee to also find me a used Prius with car pool decals. In about 10 days he informed me he had located one and I am very glad I purchased it. SERVICE DEP'T: I feel the Dch Service Dep't has always been honest and fair with me. As far as I know, they have never oversold me on parts or service that I didn't really need. The service advisors have always alerted me when a part shows it will need to be replaced in the near future Mack Rico, my current service advisor, seems to have the same high level of integrity that I have been accustomed to receiving since first coming here in 2000. I took my 2000 Camry to the service dept's at 2 other Toyota dealerships much closer to my home (it's a long trip over to Dch Torrance). Both times I was certain I had been overcharged at those other dealerships, and some expensive work they said I needed was not confirmed by Dch one time, and their predecessor the other time. MANAGEMENT: With very few exceptions, the behavior and attitude of employees reflect the values of management. Dch Torrance Toyota management maintains a very professional operation. They are highly focused team leaders, and that quality is manifested in the positive attitude of the staff. They have created a pleasant customer-oriented atmosphere. Overall, Dch Torrance Toyota is the absolute best auto dealership I have dealt with since buying my first new car in 1966. My spouse and I highly recommend Dch Torrance Toyota. John Paxson More
We had used "Torrance Toyota" for all of our Toyota service and were quite happy with the Service Managers like Mike. When DCH bought the dealership, we noticed a big change in the service depar Toyota service and were quite happy with the Service Managers like Mike. When DCH bought the dealership, we noticed a big change in the service department. Previously, some service managers would actually recommend getting tires at Costco to save money. Now, I notice all the "good service managers" are gone. The new service managers try to "up sell" service. Not only do they upsell, but their prices are higher than comparable Toyota dealers for the same services. Finally, my son took his Scion Xb to an Easy Lube for a routine oil change. As part of the Easy Lube service, they "check all filters." They said the air filter was missing - DCH Toyota had done all of the service on this car up to that point! DCH had apparently not replaced the filter. When I checked their invoice, sure enough, they had charged us for "replace filters." Also, our Tundra has had a strange rubbing sound since one service. I have had it checked twice since by DCH. Once they said it was "rear end fluid" and sheepishly stated, "The rear end has the wrong kind of fluid in it". They had done ALL of the service up to that point, so DCH made a mistake, possibly damaged the rear end, then tried to minimize it by saying "It shouldn't hurt anything". The Tundra rubbing is still an issue, so when I took the Tundra in for a recall, I thought I might as well have them take one more shot at routine service. DCH once again tried to "upsell" me about $1000 of stuff like "timing chain isn't needed by mileage, but you might want to replace it" and "the rear end fluid needs to be replaced to solve the rubbing feel" !!!! Amazing! Do they really get away with this with other customers? More
My wife and i went on a Saturday to test drive the new tundras. we had a few other makes/models in mind and wanted to test drive them all before we made our decision. well once the sales jerk found out we tundras. we had a few other makes/models in mind and wanted to test drive them all before we made our decision. well once the sales jerk found out we we not going to buy that day he literally left us standing there with no help. so i complained and the "manager" told me "the sales guys are not interested in helping on Saturdays unless you are going to buy". what stupid policy is that. that is the worst service i have ever received. So we went to South Bay Toyota and got a great deal in the end. ive gone back to SB Toyota a few times with family members and friends to buy cars. i WILL NOT go back to Torrance Toyota. ever for anything. they suck. 0 stars. I had been shopping around for more than 5 auto dealerships in Orange County & Long Beach before stopping at DCH Torrance. HUDSON LEE was the one who helped me have my first car. I used to think th dealerships in Orange County & Long Beach before stopping at DCH Torrance. HUDSON LEE was the one who helped me have my first car. I used to think that I might never get my first car this year because all of the dealerships I had been to kept making me frustrating. They tried to take as much $$ from me as possible by giving me a high monthly payment, or a long term payment etc. It wasn't like that when I came to DCH Torrance. Hudson Lee is very professional and courteous before and after the sale. He suggested which car I should buy for my need by comparing, & explaining the advantages of each kind of car. Finally, I decided to buy a brand new Corolla LE '10. He made sure that I knew how to use all the options in the car, and kept telling me that never hesitate to call him whenever I have problems, questions about the car. The deal process was very fast because Mr. Lee really tried hard to match my financial need from the very first shot which was unbelievable. Because at other dealerships I even spent 4-5hours there but never got to anything. Mr. Yamasaki is a nice guy too. He suggested me to a check out a good insurance company so that I could have a low quote for my car. Thanks a lot Mr. Lee and Mr. Yamasaki. Working with you guys was very easy, helpful, and worthy. If you like people to lie to you and give you high pressure sales crap, then Nate Badger at Torrance, CA DCH Toyota is the one for you. My first purchase of a Camry with Mr. Badger was fine. The s pressure sales crap, then Nate Badger at Torrance, CA DCH Toyota is the one for you. My first purchase of a Camry with Mr. Badger was fine. The service work I have received was excellent. The Camry is great, and I will be replacing it in one year. I was having a really stupid problem with my car, and some Toyota specialist wanted to charge me an arm and a leg to get it fixed. I wanted a second opinion, so I went to DCH Toyota. Marvin asked a few q some Toyota specialist wanted to charge me an arm and a leg to get it fixed. I wanted a second opinion, so I went to DCH Toyota. Marvin asked a few questions, pointed to something, pushed a few buttons, and while I feel like an idiot, he saved me some money. Suffice it to say that my old mechanic no longer has my business. When I do actually need a service, I'll be seeing Marvin! More
