1. I travelled to Chapman Metro Nissan at 6723 Essington Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19153 for 08:00AM appointment on Thursday, June 18, 2026. 2. I checked into the service department. I explained to service rep Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19153 for 08:00AM appointment on Thursday, June 18, 2026. 2. I checked into the service department. I explained to service rep Chris Juaquee that engine light has been showing for over a month. I told him a computer code reader device indicated error code P0456. I told him I replaced gas cap and air filter as well which did not resolve issue. 3. I indicated to Chris I have a Triton Protect (now Renascent Protection Solutions) extended warranty (ET00245974) and provided him with the warranty document for 2020 Nissan Pathfinder SL Rock Creek, VIN=5N1DR2CMXLC651328, Plate GTK8879. 4. Eric told me they would run another computer code reader analysis using their own device. He stated this particular issue could take some time and recommended I return home. 5. Shortly thereafter, Chris called me at home and stated they needed to do a “smoke” test but needed a guarantee from me to pay $399 for the test. I asked him why this is not submitted to Renascent Protection Solutions. He said they only open claims when the smoke test is completed and they have a quote for the repair. I stated that is ridiculous. The claim should have been opened when the computer error code analysis work was planned. He said I need to contact Renascent Protection Solutions. I did not approve the smoke test by the dealership. 6. I contacted Renascent Protection Solutions and was told a smoke test is submitted with the quote for repair. I stated that makes no sense when the smoke test is the service being conducted to find the source of the problem. The dealership was putting me on the hook for $399 without verification Renascent Protection Solutions would pay. I spoke to the Claim manager at Renascent Protection Solutions. He said Renascent would only cover one hour of work so this is a scam when the dealership is making me responsible for a charge that is not in line with other licensed service centers for a smoke test 7. I travelled back to the dealership to get my car. Chris told me there was a charge for the computer error code analysis for $221. I know this test takes 30 seconds to complete. I asked why the claim was not opened with Renascent service when this analysis was conducted. Chapman Nissan’s practices make my extended warranty useless. He had no answer. I told him this is not how this is no manner to treat a 45-year Nissan customer. He stated “Ok”. I am looking for the following to occur: 1. Refund the $221 I was charged for the 30 second code reader lookup whether option 2 or 3 is chosen 2. Honor the Extended Warranty that Nissan and Renascent Protection Solutions sold as a product to the customer with no other charges to the customer other than the deductible stated in the contract to Renascent Protection Solutions. 3. If #2 is unacceptable, refund the $1,600 purchase price paid by the customer for the extended warranty. More
