We do acknowledge and apologize for Mr. Bowman’s poor experience. Unfortunately, the vehicle that he wanted had been sold and money received on Monday, the day before he acted on purchase. We did attempt to help find another vehicle that would work for him but were not successful. Again, we do apologize.

To be accurate, we agreed on a price Monday morning and your finance people sent me the bill of sale that day. If the car was sold at that time, your finance people would have known that and wouldn’t have sent me a bill of sale on a sold car. If they do send bills of sale on sold car the problems I described are only the tip of the iceberg. The salesperson, finance people, nor the bill of sale itself indicated any need for me to send any money at that time. Everyone knew I was a 800+ credit score all cash buyer. What happened here is that someone at the last minute offered a higher price than what we had agreed to and you opted to take the money vs honor what we had been working on for days and had agreed to. There’s no other explanation and it’s bad business. Probably the bigger issue is that the salesperson knew I was buying this car sight unseen for my daughter and I asked him specifically - in texts and otherwise - about every aspect of the condition of this car. No mention of the leaking interior and the smell. That’s a material thing that should have been disclosed. I would have walked away. By the sound of it, this was not disclosed to the person who ended up with it. Bottom line, this dealer wasted an enormous amount of my time, is high on excuses, and low on trustworthiness. For any potential buyer, you should also know that there is no Capital Auto Group corporate or head office to escalate this behavior to. What happens in Wilmington stays in Wilmington.
