Brought my pretty new vehicle to Bob Smith for its first (6 months) maintenance check. I had not bought the car there, but they still made me feel very welcome and happy I chose them. Because there wasn't much to be "serviced" with only 700 miles on the ODO, I asked if I could wait. Greg (service coordinator) said that he would try, was very nice, friendly and gave me constant updates while I was waiting (the wait was not too long, probably 40 minutes, which I had anticipated). Jakub (technician) was super nice as well, genuinely interested and engaging. I felt like part of a circle of friends, so my next maintenance visit is something I'm almost looking forward to. On a side note: Nobody, even the selling dealership (Longo) was able to tell me what the difference between my model year and the previous model year is in terms of specs or equipment. At Bob Smith, I quickly walked over to the sales desk and someone (did not see his name, unfortunately), immediately was able to tell me that there actually is no difference and showed me the evidence. Just one more reason to trust this place. More
I was told by Haik who sold me my Highlander to come in for a free oil change for my birthday. I took the day off and scheduled a time to come in for a 105,000 mile service check up. After waiting for 10 minutes (my service advisor was on the phone) I told him that I was there for a lube and oil and general mileage check. I have used the dealership for several years for all my maintenance and other issues. My adviser told me I would have to get the coupon for the oil change but I was never told that. Haik was not at work yet so I talked to another salesman who said that he could not give me a coupon but the sales manager could. After waiting a few minutes I was told that since the free oil change deal was paid personally by the GM and he would have to talk with Haik. I was not trying to "put one over on anyone" as I can afford to pay for the service, but was there specifically because of the invitation from Haik. I was not happy with the treatment and when I tried to inquire about the lack of communication I was told that was the way it was. Needless to say, I will never be returning to Bob Smith and have told several friends that should they need a car they should shop elsewhere. The attitude was bordering on rude and definitely indifferent to the fact I had to take time off of work to make the appointment. My car is great by the way, but the service was definitely a negative for me. More
