I have read your review and would like to explain what happened. This vehicle has sustained internal failure to the HVAC system. When the refrigerant system becomes contaminated by metal filings, major component replacement becomes necessary. It is possible to replace a leaky hose, however, that will not prevent further failure due to the metal filings in the system. The diagnosis and cost of repairs is in line. It is the up to the owner to decide what procedure/repair to take. To state we are "ripoffs" is unfair and out of line. Our service staff were reporting to the owner what is needed and replacing a leaky hose would be a temporary repair at best, especially on a vehicle with 175,000 miles and the vehicle is a 1993 Audi.
