We had been in the market to replace our old truck, so we visited two dealerships in Oxnard that sold brands that we had previously owned. We were not happy with the truck models that were available at those dealerships, and even more unhappy with being expected to pay a high price for something that was not exactly what we wanted. We also believe that the behavior of the “closing” sales agents at those two dealerships was unethical in that they presented us with a high number for the cost of the trucks that we were interested in, without explanation as why the cost was so much higher than the sticker price, and then we are expected to negotiate it down from there. This behavior from the “closers” is exactly why we do not enjoy buying a new automobile. I would rather drive a car “into the ground” than to have to endure that. In frustration, we decided to see if Nissan might have a suitable truck model; we had never owned a Nissan before, but figured that the experience couldn’t possibly be any worse than at the two other dealerships. We are so glad that we did! Our salesperson Tina Flores was very professional, made certain that all of our questions were answered, and did not attempt to steer us towards any particular options on their Frontier model truck. After we decided that we wanted to purchase a Nissan Frontier truck, rather than a truck from either of the two competing brands that we had looked at, the internet sales manager Mitch Freeman took over in locating a Nissan dealership that had the truck that we wanted, in the color we wanted, and with the options we wanted. He then drove to that dealership in Corona and had the truck we wanted ready for us at the Oxnard dealership the next day. Throughout the entire experience with the Oxnard Nissan dealership there was no pressure, no drama, and no game playing from them. We were treated in a respectful manner and everything was explained to us. It was exactly how buying a new car or truck should be, a very pleasant experience. More
