Sheldon was amazing! 5-star service. He was attentive and responsive, listened for what was important to me and even thoughtful enough to check in on me after a medical p 5-star service. He was attentive and responsive, listened for what was important to me and even thoughtful enough to check in on me after a medical procedure I told him I was having. He worked with me on the price and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything buttoned up to get the paper work I needed to give to my lender. Then his manager, Katherine, stepped in and nearly cost y’all a sale. After Sheldon had worked with her to get prices approved during negotiations, she remembered that the vehicle we were negotiating around was traded up. Sheldon found another identical vehicle and drove to get it. He had a family matter to attend to the next day, but worked with her to make sure I just needed to come in, ask for her, and she would take me over to Finance to sign the paperwork. I felt good about this because, as I understand the car sales industry, this would mean Sheldon kept the full commission. Instead, though, she brought in another sales person, Christian, to have me sign a few papers and mostly keep me company until Mike was free. Don’t get me wrong. Christian was also incredibly nice and a professional, but I was surprised to see his name on the final paperwork along with Sheldon’s. I know enough about the industry to know that meant commission would be split on the sale, even though Sheldon got the deal over the finish line and even though Christian just babysat me because Katherine couldn’t be bothered. The vehicle that Sheldon drove to pick up the night before, because Katherine seemed to have forgotten the one I negotiated was no longer on the lot, didn’t have window tint on the front windows. Christian said, “No worries. We’ll get that added Monday so it’s identical to the one you thought you were negotiating.” I was supposed to pick the vehicle up when my bank opened that Tuesday. So imagine my surprised when I went to get the vehicle and learned that the tint had not been done, and that Katherine said twice that she wouldn’t approve it because we negotiated the price down so much. Let me be clear. We negotiated another vehicle that had the tint. The only reason I didn’t get that original one was because of HER mistake. So, I’m literally 15 minutes from the dealership, killing time with $38,750 in cashiers checks on me while Jim Ellis Kia decided whether or not they are going to do the right thing and give me the window tint I was promised. About a half an hour, three phone calls and a few texts later, I learn I’m getting the window tint I was promised. Yet again, Sheldon putting in the work, only to split the commission with Christian. Let me be clear. I did not *need* a new car. I would have been ready to blow up this deal and walk away, not because of $125 window tint but because of the management’s (Katherine’s) lack of integrity from the weekend prior until the day I picked it up. Sheldon saved the sale. Not Katherine. Not Christian (again, who was great, but didn’t “make” the sale). Sheldon. I would send people to Sheldon wherever he worked. I’d have to think twice about sending people to Jim Ellis Kia or Kennesaw again though. More
