Whenever I would bring it in for it's service, Dillon always took the time to ask me how I liked the car. So when it came time to turn it in I decided I wished to buy a vehicle again rather than lease, so I went straight to Dillon and within twenty minutes he had me in the seat of the car I wanted. I could buy my Kia at many dealerships....but only one has Dillon! I also must mention that Destination Kia's service dept is top notch! that too had a bit to do with my second purchase there. Thanks for making car shopping fun! More

I was Overall, my experience with Destination KIA was extremely poor. I visited Tuesday and determined the vehicle I desired, a preowned 2013 KIA Rio. I was told to pick up the car Thursday. On Thursday, I attempted to contact my salesman only to get no response until the end of the day telling me it was not ready. Friday came, and they had several questions for me regarding insurance which should have been resolved before picking up. The car had some damage to the seats and windshield, which they offered to repair. They said they would give me a loan car and fix both issues in the day. After two hours wait, I was told I could not get a loaner due to my age(20) Both my sister, mother and I have purchased our vehicles at Destination KIA. However, we will not be returning. More

Poor Communication, Bogus Charges I feel disappointed and betrayed by my recent experience with Destination KIA and their communication in regards to my lease contract. Upon contractin I feel disappointed and betrayed by my recent experience with Destination KIA and their communication in regards to my lease contract. Upon contracting my KIA Forte a few years ago I worked with a sales person to tell him everything I needed in a vehicle. Initially I liked the laid back attitude of the staff and felt comfortable with the buying process. I did not realize, however, that this laid back style of sales would transpire into a nearly $1,500 bill upon my lease's end. When speaking to my salesman years ago I was clear (as I always am) that I needed something reliable, that I needed 12,000 miles/year, and that I needed the insurance as I live in Albany and some wear and tear is expected. I received a number of head nods and ended up settling my decision on the KIA Forte. The price seemed great and the dealer friendly so I had no problem signing through the paperwork quickly (I mistake that later cost me). At the end of my lease I returned to KIA to see about re-leasing through their services. Unfortunately, the second time around they were less inclined to meet me at my price point and essentially said from the beginning that my ideal price range was unreasonable for today's market. With that I took my business else ware (where I DID find a car in my range - NISSAN). At this point I had one payment remaining on the car and arranged to get my KIA payed off in full and returned to the dealership. Months later I received a phone call from KIA Motors saying that I owed the company over $1,000 in return taxes, damages to car, and for "Adjusted Capitalized Cost". I told them that I had not received ANY paperwork in regards to this charge, nor did I receive pictures of this so called damage. I also reminded them that I had paid an extra $20+ dollars in insurance monthly to ensure that I would not be charged for normal wear and tare damages. The "customer service" rep on the other end said that I had no record of insurance so that does not apply. She said she would "resend" the bill, but that I would still be expected to pay the accrued charges within a few weeks or my credit company would be alerted. Upon further investigation here is what happened: 1. Instead of the 12,000 miles I had asked for I was provided with 10,000 so I accrued a few hundred dollars in overage. Now despite the fact that I specifically stated the number of miles I needed, this is clearly written in my lease, so I would be willing to eat these charges. I am, however, disappointed that I was not provided the mileage that I NEW I needed. 2. The "insurance" that I paid for states that all my damages WOULD have been covered IF I had gotten them fixed prior to turning in the vehicle. When I spoke to agents at Destination KIA about this they simply said, "Well, if you had bought the car through us we would have helped you through that process." I have a few problems with this - 1. I resent the idea that you're stating that you only would have helped me through that process if I had released with you. That's dirty business and sketchy sales work. 2. I never received pictures of said damage until I placed several phone calls demanding them. 3. Over the course of three years I have paid you just over $720 in insurance fees and only accrued about $500 in damages. You can't just fix the car....at the service station IN YOUR DEALERSHIP with the money I have already provided? Again, this is just a ploy to get money and I resent the fact that this insurance policy was not explained to me in further detail. 3. Lastly, and in my opinion, most absurd, is I was charged for the fact that my car didn't do well in auction AFTER it was turned in. That's right, I paid off every single payment of that car (and then some when we include the insurance policy that was useless) and I STILL was charged and extra $2,000 because my buy-out would have been around $11,000 and the car sold for $9,000 in auction. When I asked why I would be responsible for this when I paid the car in full they said it was because I turned the my car in (a few weeks) too early and therefore I am subject to any damages lost in auction. Again, they stated this was written in the lease and that they would have "helped me through this had I re-leased from them." All in all I mistook a crooked dealership for a "laid back sales style" and regret that I ever did business with Destination KIA. I feel that their communication in regards to the fine print of my lease were sub-par and they were unhelpful when it came to understanding and rectifying the bogus charges that came months after. As it stands I still owe every penny they asked for. I have now have one week to pay or my credit companies will be notified. When I explained that I couldn't pay the amount in full and would need payment plans they, again, refused to help and said that the full amount would be due. If you are thinking about working with Destination KIA my advice would be to reconsider. More
