Unfortunately, your situation was the other extreme and much less frequent ones where things just go haywire. I’m dealing with more service issues. It’s obviously turning into the norm and not an exception to the rule. Instead of apologizing on a public forum how about training your completely rude service manager on how to treat customers and deal with our actual problems then send a backhanded apology!

Mike, We are very sorry that you were made to feel like nothing more than a revenue source, or that you were intentionally being taken advantage of. I assure you, that is not the case. Repair estimates often vary from shop to shop. We conduct regular price comparisions to see how we stack up, but when repairs are complicated, the prices can be all over the place. Every service technician, here and elsewhere, relies on their knowledge and experience to determine the best way to resolve the problem(s) with a vehicle, so the solutions often vary - and sometimes greatly - as it seems to be in your case. I am sorry to hear that we have lost your business in the process, but please know that we were doing our best, and it was never our intention to make you feel misled. We do appreciate you letting us know about what happened, perhaps there is a way we can communicate better and explain the reasons why when our quote differs greatly from someone else's. So thank you again, and we hope you have a happy and safe Labor Day weekend.

When your quote is $11,000 and I receive 3 other quotes from different shops that were all around $4,000, I can’t imagine with such a difference that there is any way to “communicate better”. Stick to oil changes.
