The car buying process was made very easy by the Mazda of Claremont team. I felt like I was having a conversation with a colleague... I didn't feel pressured, nor embarrassed by asking questions. Lorne was very helpful and informative, he knew the ins and outs of the vehicle very well, he was polite and professional. Unfortunately, the dealer did not do their part very well, I am located in Phoen and outs of the vehicle very well, he was polite and professional. Unfortunately, the dealer did not do their part very well, I am located in Phoenix, Arizona and had reserved the car over the phone with another salesman, I arranged to fly in and pick the car up first thing on Saturday morning 1/11. When I arrived at the dealer around 9:30 AM, no one greeted me or even acknowledged I was there. When I finally tracked someone down and asked for my salesman he wasn't at work yet even though I kept in contact with him, notifying him when I had landed and that I would be at the dealer in 20 min or so. In his absence Lorne was assigned to fill in. The car was not prepped for delivery, it was dirty, and missing the second set of keys. The ironic part is it was parked off to the side with a "reserved VIP" sign in the window. After the test drive I signed the remainder of the paperwork and paid my down payment while they took the car in the back to wash it. At this point it was around 10:30. I then proceeded to sit in the lobby for another 3 and a half hours being told the detail wasn't right, and then being told the second key had to be cut and programmed. While I was waiting I tried to purchase a set of all weather floor mats that I had discussed with my original salesman after he told me the car did not come with the factory floor mats. He had offered to give me a discount on the all weather mats. Lorne took me to the parts counter only to find out he had never checked to see if they were in stock. Once the car was finally ready for delivery it did have the factory floor mats, so I almost spent an unnecessary $180 after being told the car had no mats from the beginning. Once I was given the keys Lorne did a great job going over all the features of the car, and how to adjust the settings in the car. There was also an issue with my down payment not going through that I did not realize until the following Monday, some how they allowed me to leave with the car. After I noticed the money had not gone through I tried multiple times to reach out to try to get this situation remedied always being transferred to a voicemail box with no returned calls. I did finally get it taken care of with no issues. Overall the experience was very disappointing, being at a dealership for 4 hours after the deal was basically done is not my idea of fun, especially when they knew I had a 5 hour drive back home. More
