Burlington Kia does not stand behind their product. The service manager and general manager were disingenuous to my complaint. The Sportage I had owned less than 4 months with 7155 miles on it display The service manager and general manager were disingenuous to my complaint. The Sportage I had owned less than 4 months with 7155 miles on it displayed two error codes that prompted me to go to service center. Before I was even out of the vehicle I was told rodent damage was not covered under warranty. To me that was oddly specific. According to the service center it was rodent damage. The cost of repair was over $600. It was explained that the wiring insulation is soy based and it attracts rodents. I was told several ways to prevent this from sprinkling chili powder in the engine compartment to placing a mouse trap in the engine compartment, or they could wrap the damaged wiring with rodent resistant tape. My question why was this not done in the first place? No answer. During the purchase I was not told the warranty did not cover rodent damage. When I purchased the extended warranty I was not told it did not cover rodent damage. This is a manufacturing problem that needs to be addressed. It is not a consumer problem that they have to correct. When you make a vehicle out of rat food it attracts rats and they must really like the Kia wiring! I own 3 vehicles, a gator, a golf cart, and a zero turn lawn mower and never has a rodent eaten the wiring insulation! I sold the vehicle immediately. I do not recommend the product or the dealership. More
