I didn’t think dealers still ‘worked’ buyers like this any more ( very 1970’s) but Schomp Subaru absolutely does: their ONLY goal is to move THEIR vehicles off their lot; never loose sight of this becau any more ( very 1970’s) but Schomp Subaru absolutely does: their ONLY goal is to move THEIR vehicles off their lot; never loose sight of this because they won’t. They will use every excuse, apology, promise, delay tactic, every trick, and, yes, every lie ever devised by any car sales staff that has ever sold a vehicle to anyone to upsell you things you don’t want, make you take aftermarket parts, do without things you really want in order to manipulate you into either taking a vehicle off their lot which is not equipped to your specifications ( additional, usually, but sometimes fewer features than you want/need), or accepting a dealer-dealer ‘trade’ even though that ‘trade’ is not equipped as you wish. They will Never, EVER, E-V-E—R find you a vehicle that matches your specifications, even if they find 30 perfect examples , if that deal doesn’t remove a vehicle from their lot. You, the buyer, are an obstacle to be overcome by any all means necessary. More

I was very surprised to find that there are Dealerships in business today that still ‘work customers over’ 1970’s style. I’m describing my new-car buying experience. It all boils down to one and only one f in business today that still ‘work customers over’ 1970’s style. I’m describing my new-car buying experience. It all boils down to one and only one factor: what will get a vehicle that’s on our lot, off our lot. If you are flexible, you very well might be work something out with them. If you what you want, there’s no hope for you. Any arrangement that (1) does not remove a vehicle from their lot, (2) under the financial terms acceptable to that dealer will never happen. Do NOT for a fraction of a nano second think that just because there are 30 examples of vehicles available on the market that meet your exact specifications and pricing that your dealer will make it available to you if that transaction does not remove a vehicle from their lot AND provide THEM with the acceptable financial benefit. Instead they start working you over: excuses, apologies, delays, lies, addictions/deletions to your specifications including aftermarket equipment, promises. REPEAT. Repeat again and again ( HEAVY EMPHASIS ON ‘EXCUSES’), you cave or ( hopefully) go somewhere else. This was my new car sales experience with Schomp Subaru. Now you know what to expect if you choose to try buying a new car from them. More

Eric Zierk made what we normally try to avoid, going to a dealer, a really great experience. Absolutely no pressure, switcheroos, or anything else. Made sure everything was taken care of and introduced us to dealer, a really great experience. Absolutely no pressure, switcheroos, or anything else. Made sure everything was taken care of and introduced us to the Dave, who will walk us through our new Outback Touring XT to show us how everything works. A comforting thought given all the bells and whistles these new cars have. More
