BUYER BEWARE — SCHOMP SUBARU 🚨 At 23 years old, my daughter made what she thought was a responsible financial decision. She spent $16,000 of her hard-earned money purchasing a used vehicle outright fr daughter made what she thought was a responsible financial decision. She spent $16,000 of her hard-earned money purchasing a used vehicle outright from Schomp Subaru rather than taking on a car payment. She was assured the vehicle had been thoroughly inspected and was in great condition. Within a year, that $16,000 purchase turned into a financial nightmare. She’s replaced the battery, paid nearly $4,000 for a USED engine, and covered numerous other repairs out of pocket. Now the transmission needs replacing at an estimated $3,900, along with thousands more in additional recommended repairs. When she initially contacted Schomp about the battery issue, she was essentially brushed off. Today, she’s spending FOUR HOURS a day riding the bus to and from work because she cannot afford to keep repairing this vehicle. I understand used cars come with risks, but there is a difference between normal wear and tear and this level of mechanical failure. My daughter was trying to make a smart financial decision, and instead, she’s been left with a vehicle she can’t drive and thousands of dollars in losses. I genuinely feel she was taken advantage of. A dealership’s reputation and assurances should mean something. Please think twice before trusting a dealership’s inspection, and always get an independent one before purchasing. More
