Toyota. Nowhere else. That's all I ever wanted to work for. I have joked that I bleed Toyota emblems. My Dad, Uncle and Aunt all worked for Toyota when I was growing up. We were early adopters of the product here in Central Illinois. I think our 1989 Corolla was the first Toyota in Fairbury IL. I started at Fort's as a Salesman on April Fools Day 1996. Hopefully I haven't been the fool! It is an easy way for me to remember the date. I had never sold a car or worked at a dealer before, but impressed the sales manager with my product knowledge. Later, as my Wife and I started a family. I needed a kid friendly schedule and moved to the service department. This has been an opportunity to meet thousands of Toyota lovers! I can talk Toyota all day with you folks! I espouse to my staff to treat everyone like they are working on their family members car. We don't sell "snake-oil" products or over-recommend work on cars. We do our best everyday and I hope it shows.

I’ve always had good experience in the past. I don’t know what changed. Eric, the service manager has changed his disposition entirely and was very unkind because he doesn’t like to work with ou I don’t know what changed. Eric, the service manager has changed his disposition entirely and was very unkind because he doesn’t like to work with our warranty company. I was there for engine work that the company did cover and I had to send it back four times to have it corrected. But what he wanted to talk about was, not the bad work done, but about a headlight they didn’t cover from my last repair. He said they gave me a loaner and they were losing money on it the whole time my engine was being repaired. I didn’t really need the loaner. I just accepted it because they offered. I didn’t ask for it they offered, and he was holding that against me. Before he asked me to pay $200 for repair my warranty company didn’t cover. I agreed but asked to do it the following week after I paid for the deductible on the engine. ***Even though when I dropped off my car, I ticked the box that said do not do repairs on my car if the amount exceeded $100. They did it anyway on my headlight. And Eric said Dillon should have handled it better but they are holding me accountable for their work and the warranty companies decision. They said they will never again help out anyone who has Total Warranty. I was threatened many times when I had to keep bringing my car back for repair over and over again. Wrong bumper alignment. Missing bolts and screws to hold the bumper on. Eric threatened to put my old headlight back in. Cory the mechanic kind at first and understanding and pleaded with me not to take my car to any other Toyota in the area and said I would get terrible service. But he was insulted when I asked for complete assurance they would not put my old light back in and he said I was talking myself out of them completing the work on the engine correctly and threatened to have me leave as it was. Eric said that there was no one else I could talk to that the was the top authority so I had to call Toyota and I haven’t had any luck talking to anyone there who really cares what we went through. I’m waiting to see if the $4000 worth of engine work they did holds up. (Total Warranty covered that) Cory’s apprentice did the work… Cory admitted that was done terribly and he didn’t completely oversee all his work. They left my car in pieces and with missing bolts and I have no trust that the engine work they did will hold up. And it will need to prove to holds up before I give them one penny. Thanks Toyota I no longer want your vehicle and no longer want your service from anywhere More

I have exclusively been visiting Fort’s Toyota for all of my Highlander repair needs for the past 10 years. I’m extremely disheartened in the lack of professionalism and integrity that I have experienced fro my Highlander repair needs for the past 10 years. I’m extremely disheartened in the lack of professionalism and integrity that I have experienced from both Amanda Railey and Eric Stahl, Service Manager. I took my Highlander for a routine tire rotation, on 9/12/24. Amanda relayed that I needed over $1600 in recommended maintenance items (I was immediately suspicious as I have never even had half of these items recommended before). I take great care of my vehicle and want to ensure it stays in top shape. I told her that I would be taking my vehicle to a private mechanic because the estimate she provided was excessive. On September 23, my local mechanic called me to report that my Engine filter was missing and the lid to my engine filter was haphazardly laying under the hood. I immediately reached out to Amanda to inform her. She relayed that she spoke to Eric, service manager, and they did not have a video to review from my date of service 11 days prior. I asked her why my engine filter was even removed because I only went there for a tire rotation. She clarified that even during a tire rotation, they check all the filters. I told her that I was disappointed this happened and hoping that my vehicle wasn’t damaged from all the debris that could enter into the engine while the lid was out for 11 days with no filter in place. She assured me that everything would be well. She also advised me to send an invoice of the new filter I had to purchase for approximately $50 including install from my local mechanic. She said that Fort’s Toyota would reimburse me for this cost. I emailed her the invoice on September 24. No response. Then, I sent follow up emails to both her and Eric on September 27 and October 3. No response. I would greatly appreciate follow up regarding this concerning experience and lack of professionalism. More
