I purchased a 2020 Santa Fe brand new from this dealership in December 2019. Last week before selling the car, due to moving out of state after a military retirement, it wouldn’t start. I had it to dealership in December 2019. Last week before selling the car, due to moving out of state after a military retirement, it wouldn’t start. I had it towed to the dealership and two days later they messaged me that the alternator needed to be replaced. Late the next day, they messaged me that it was fixed and that I could pick it up the next morning. Around 9am the next morning, they messaged me saying that the starter was out. After shelling out $1500 to fix the issues, I arrive to the dealership to pick up the car and notice the gas compartment door is missing. I address it with the service rep who proceeds to tell me that it was in their storage lot and that they’re not liable for it. Keep in mind, they take receipt of the vehicle when it was towed in, never mention that it will be in an unsecured storage lot, and not once do they mention that it’s missing while communicating with me about the alternator and starter. By this time, I’m pretty angry and blow up on the service reps. The fact that the dealership immediately dismisses any liability and makes no initial attempt to make this right for a loyal customer, one who just gave them $1500 after what appears to be a misdiagnosis for what the actual cause was for why the vehicle not starting, has got me seeing red. Eventually I calm down and I must admit, it’s only because Christian (service rep) does an amazing job of keeping his cool and de-conflicting the situation. After hearing my story, he talks with the parts manager and tells me that the part will be ordered with no cost to me but that it will take a few weeks to come in. Due to leaving the state in about a month and my plan to sell the car, I ask if they could just give me an appraisal to buy it. Christian links me up with a sales rep and directly talks to the GM to provide the backstory of what’s going on. Now you would think by this time the dealership would understand I’m in no mood to play games. Nope, they decide to try and “deal” me and give me a lowball offer of $15K for a 2020 Santa Fe SEL that has 38K miles on it, is in perfect condition (minus being dirty), has a brand new battery, brand new alternator, a brand new starter, and for a customer with title in hand. Of course, I immediately decline the offer as I know the value of the car. After one more shot, they come back with an offer of $18K which I accept. To put the cherry on top, I’m told I have to wait 3-5 business days to pick up the check. Funny how when I bought the car, I wasn’t given 3-5 business days to submit payment. As I’m walking out the door, I ask to speak to the GM in person because I want to personally inform him of how Christian (sales rep) professionally handled the situation and how if it weren’t for him, I wouldn’t have given the dealership any more of my business. Christian should be promoted immediately in my opinion and is the only reason why I am not giving this review 1 star. Of course, I’m told the GM is in the middle of a “deal” and will call me…he never does. I will never recommend this dealership to anyone and, in fact, I will never own another Hyundai (I’ve owned 3). Took 4 hours to reach them by phone the first time when they sent the tow truck the tow truck driver said there’s nothing wrong with your car …. Drive it. The next phone call to service the guy was snarky saying we were a no show. I told Him what the tow truck driver said and he said he’s not a mechanic. I said your business sent him. He then told me it would be almost 2 months before I could Get an appointment and not to drive my car it was unsafe! Had to go to the GM of the business to get my car in, which it needed to be towed. No communication about the status of your vehicle throughout the day. Diagnosis report came back with filter needing to change but no call about it so I need to make another appointment to have it ch throughout the day. This dealership's service department loaner was a new, well tended vehicle that allowed me to fully appreciate and know what I wanted to upgrade my older Hyundai. Customer service is abysmal. My car has 27,000 miles and I have asked twice to have my tires rotated and each time they said they didn’t do it because it didn’t need it. However, they told me my car needed a ton of other stuff that of course would be extra. They don’t want to take time to rotate my tires because it’s included in a package I bought. Funny how they only worry about things they can charge you for. Also, said the oil change would be an hour and a half and it took 4 hours. If I could take back buying this car, I would! More

My car was damaged while on Lithia Hyundai's lot back on September 20th 2023. They claimed that the damage never occurred on their property but refused to let me see any security camera footage of their lot September 20th 2023. After many emails Chris Schmidt agreed to pay for the damages to my car. I took it in to their body shop to get a quote. After getting the quote I sent it over to Chris. After many emails and calls Chris Schmidt continued to ignore me and I never heard back from him. My car is still damaged and Lithia Hyundai never held up their end of the deal. Stay away if you can.
