While our experience from beginning to end was not perfect, White Bear Subaru deserves credit for trying to make things right and acknowledging mistakes along the way. In an imperfect world, we are giving 5 stars based on the overall experience, but there are a few things we learned that you might want to be aware of when buying a car from White Bear: 1. If you are located outside of Minnesota, get clear information on the cost to register the car. The third-party software they use to handle has an extra cost. 2. If you have any unique circumstances, confirm you have all the questions answered before you arrive at the dealership. This includes verifying any odd tax situations (our previous car was a total loss which allowed us a tax credit in our state). 3. Review all the financial information before you sign. While there is no intent to be sneaky from our experience, financial statements are complex and we found a fee we weren’t expecting after leaving the dealership. My wife and I reached out to White Bear through an information request on their website. We got a lot of information about the car from our salesperson Camila (who was fantastic). We committed to buying the car at the list price and asked for some financing information and provided details about our unique tax situation, but never got definitive answers from the Financing department. We were assured things would be figured out when we arrived a few days later (a Saturday morning) so we committed to driving four hours to the dealership. Unfortunately, things were not as figured out as we would have hoped when we arrived and it took about 30 minutes before all our financial paperwork was ready to be reviewed and explained. When we brought up our tax situation, it was initially brushed off by the financial person (Matt) as something they couldn’t help with because their third-party system couldn’t handle that situation. Not wanting to lose out on a $1500 savings, we debated not purchasing the car, but Matt suggested that they could send the paperwork in and hopefully we would receive the discount and they could refund us the difference (this ended up happening at the end). Things moved very quickly from there. This might have been because we seemed like we were in a hurry or there was another buyer after us, we are not sure, but we would have liked a slower, more in-depth process. Once we reviewed the financial paperwork a few days later in depth we found an “Optional Electronic Transfer Fee” for around $500. This was quite surprising, and we learned this was for registering the car in North Dakota. We provided feedback that we would not have purchased the car if this fee had been explained before we signed (and ideally explained before we even arrived). Lastly, partially due to our own fault and partially because it wasn’t explained, our car registration with North Dakota was delayed due to my license expiring six days after purchase (it was quickly renewed). While registration timelines aren’t under White Bear Subaru’s control, it would have been nice to been given a rundown of the normal process. Upon providing feedback, the Finance Manager Kevin was quick to reach out and address our concerns. He took them very seriously and apologized for our experience, even refunding the fee that was a surprise to us after we left the dealership. While our experience wasn’t perfect, there were a lot of highlights including working with Camila (who was amazing), getting a good deal on an in-demand vehicle, and being able to purchase the car in a few days after inquiring. We appreciate that Kevin took our feedback seriously and appreciated it and hope all future customers have a much better car buying experience than we did. While we wouldn’t recommend White Bear for out-of-state customers until you learn about the additional fees for registering, we would recommend them for their care for their customers and desire to make the experience as positive as possible. This dealership is very accessible. The salesperson was lacking in knowledge of the vehicle, which is understandable, considering it was a Chevy Trax and not an Acura or Subaru. A joy-filled right of passage via White Bear Acura. .. After a month of due diligence and test drives together, my daughter scored her first auto purchase, a 2023 Subaru Crosstrek from White Bear Acura .. After a month of due diligence and test drives together, my daughter scored her first auto purchase, a 2023 Subaru Crosstrek from White Bear Acura. The gently used (12,000 mi) vehicle is nimble and has many highly rated safety features, including lane assist, backup camera and fold down rear seats for all of my daughter's gear. It will fit her athletic, on-the-go, lifestyle perfectly. Special thanks to Camila Chambers for such a pleasant experience, including test driving the different Subaru models, identifying the Crosstrek selected, and getting us through the purchase process. The Good: I thoroughly enjoyed working with Camila during the process. She is very customer oriented and put in the effort to make it a positive experience for me. Opportunities for improvement. The mileage listed online was not current and was lower than actual mileage. The detailers had a few misses. I.e. bugs on the moonroof screen. Smudge marks on ceiling.Dealer decals not removed. Camila offered to address the detailing and i will be taking her up on it at a later date. More

Camila was incredibly helpful. We walked in and she had pulled all of the vehicle keys ahead of time so we were able to hit the ground running with test drives.
