Sales person Brandon did a Good job on working with us. A couple issues that might be avoided. Insurance availability was difficult to get in touch with Insurance companies. Having the ability to make a key seemed difficult to complete. During sales events this should be ready and available instead of having to schedule at a later time. More

I purchased a 2023 Honda Passport on July 23, 2024. During the test drive I noticed it did drift to the right and I mentioned it to my sales rep Brandon but I forgot about it when we got back to the de During the test drive I noticed it did drift to the right and I mentioned it to my sales rep Brandon but I forgot about it when we got back to the dealership. Going through the old " let me talk to my manager" , we finally agreed on a price. While waiting to talk to the finance manager, they kept me bust filling out a dealer review form. At that time I was ok with the deal. I guess they knew what was going to happen when dealing with Kevin, the finance manager. I met Kevin, seemed nice. The price was thousands more than what I had agreed to. After getting that smoothed out, Kevin started on selling the extended warranty. I told him my past experience with extended warranty and I did not want it. He was rather insistent on me purchasing it and I had to tell him mo several times. I could tell he was upset that I didn't buy it. Next, was signing all of the documents. Thinking everything was fine I started signing. The documents were in a computer type monitor built inside the desk. There were a lot of pages. At first Kevin was sitting across from me and explained some things. Then he got up. There were so many forms (mostly tp protect the dealership) that I asked Kevin if anyone reads everything? He said : "a few do. It takes about two hours and I would go get coffee." I had already been there too long and signed the forms. I was given a thumb drive which had all of the forms. Then I left with the car. Later when I was home I reviewed the documents. I noticed the price was almost $4000.00 more than the agreed price. Looking further I found three items that I did not ask for. One was a warranty from the dealer for over $2300.00. The other was a tire warranty for over $1000.00, and $155.00 for the etching of the VIN on the windows which I'm sure they didn't do. I went back to the dealer the next day. I explained my complaint to Kevin and he said he thought that I would want the warranties and added it. He was nice about it and removed it but he changed the interest rate from 6.7% to 7.9%. Earlier when I was doing the price negotiations with the sales manager, I told the manager I'll just pay cash for the car. He said he couldn't do that because they make money from the finance interest. I should have left when dealing with the sales manager. Not sure why I didn't. After getting Kevin to remove the noted items, I left. I later contacted my credit union and refinanced the car with them for 6.5%. The car was being sold by the dealer "AS IS". That should have been a big RED FLAG to me but I did ask why it was being sold as is. Brandon said it was because Honda is not a vehicle they have equipment to completely check out. I now know the issue. The car drifts to the right just as I mentioned during the test drive but forgot about. I took the car to Wesley Chapel Honda to check the alignment. I had to take it to them twice because both times they did the alignment but it did not fix the problem. I've said enough. It's my fault that I just wasn't paying enough attention at the dealership. But, I do not reccomend Ford of Port Richey for anything. More
