On 5/22/2024, I brought my 2017 Silverado 1500 to B-H for a 75,000 mile checkup. One of the checks involved a transmission flush and refill. The mileage in was 76,881. On 7/28/2024, while in aMcDonalds dr a 75,000 mile checkup. One of the checks involved a transmission flush and refill. The mileage in was 76,881. On 7/28/2024, while in aMcDonalds drive in line, the vehicle failed to move while in Drive. A passerby offered to help and told me to shutdown the engine and wait. Upon restarting, the vehicle operated normally. I drove immediately home and the next day made an appointment with my normal service center. On 7/31/2024 and with a mileage of 77,996, the shop heard a noise like a failing pump coming from my transmission. The shop had almost 1.8 quarts of over filled transmission oil. Upon removal and inspection of the transmission the shop found metallic particles beneath the transmission filter. The transmission was failing. A rebuilt transmission was ordered and installed. The cost was $7,982.25: labor, materials and taxes. I called and spoke with Trevor Handyside who told me I need to talk to the Service Manager. After multiple calls which were never returned, I caught him in the office. He told me I would have to talk to the Director of Parts and Service. He would email him. Again no callback. Today I sent a Certified letter to AJ Hiers requesting an appointment with someone that can “make a decision” to reimburse me for a flawed service procedure. Another mechanic had me reference a service bulletin for refilling a drained transmission. Had a similar procedure for refilling a transmission been followed, my transmission would not have failed due to foaming oil and loss of lubricity causing the vane oil pump to disintegrate only 1,114 miles after servicing same at Boniface-Hiers.
