⭐ ⭐ 2-Star Review: Dishonest Pricing Tactics-- Buyer Beware
After receiving a quote from this dealership, it became crystal clear how they operate. They advertise vehicles online with massive discounts; in my case, over $7,000 off MSRP, to appear competitive and draw interest. But, once you engage with them, they load the quote with over $6,000 in inflated, questionable fees and “optional” add-ons that were never disclosed upfront.
Here’s what they tried to sneak in:
$1,390 for “Paint Protection” – likely a cheap spray or sealant that costs them next to nothing and offers little long-term benefit.
$1,390 for “Fabric Protection” – something like Scotchgard, which can be bought for under $20.
That’s $2,780 total for basic protections that would cost under $100 to apply yourself, and probably aren't even top-tier products.
$1,390 for a “Voltswitch GPS” – a GPS tracker most customers don’t request, typically worth around $100.
$395 for wheel locks – a $40 accessory available anywhere.
$979 for a “Pre-Delivery Service Fee” – essentially charging for vehicle prep already paid for by the manufacturer.
$497.50 for an “Electronic Filing Fee” – an absurd fee for DMV paperwork that most dealers charge a fraction of.
In total, that’s over $6,000 in padded costs. This completely erased the advertised "$7,000 discount." This is a TEXTBOOK bait-and-switch tactic: lure you in with an attractive price, then make up the difference with overpriced, unnecessary extras.
When I pushed back, they claimed, “You’re still getting $7,000 off MSRP.” But that’s just smoke and mirrors. I was actually being charged that money back under different names. that is called deception.
Worse, I was ready to pay cash, no financing, no trade; just a straightforward, simple transaction. The listing price looked great, but when I asked for confirmation over the phone before driving from Palm Beach to Miami, they refused to discuss anything unless I came in. Eventually, they sent a quote filled with all the above junk fees (none of which were mentioned in the listing.)
If they’re this deceptive with a cash buyer, imagine what goes on in their service department! Upselling, inflated repairs, unnecessary charges?
This is exactly the kind of behavior that gives car dealerships a bad name. It’s misleading, unethical, and a complete waste of time. If you're still considering buying here, demand an itemized quote upfront, scrutinize every charge, and be prepared to walk away.
Better yet, buy from a dealer that doesn’t rely on deception to close a sale. They're out there.
