Positive experience with routine maintenance. - dvhart
Positive experience with routine maintenance. Staff has been proactive and helpful. Bad experience with a special request, poor communication and unwilling to do only the TSB I requested and not the extras the technician recommended. Have to find another mechanic.
EDIT: Beaverton Toyota's response to my Google review was disingenuous and intended to mislead others by discrediting my review. I think that's a terrible way to treat a customer giving an honest review that you asked them to write.
Here is their original response in case they choose to change it later:
"Thank you for the feedback Darren. The TSB you requested does not cover 2024 models and also does not apply to vehicles that have after market wheels and tires. The 'extras' the technician recommended is what would need to happen in order to prevent the rubbing noise of your new tires. If you change your mind, we are here and happy to help. - Team Beaverton Toyota"
Here's the background:
The claim that the TSB only applies through 2023 models is only a half truth. T-SB-0070-19 has been updated to apply to new model years several times. The link I gave them was 2015-2020, it had already been updated to 2023, and will certainly be updated to include 2024 since they perform this TSB on the TRD Pro at port (trimming the front bumper cover and moving the fender liner forward to clear the -4mm offset TRD Pro wheels and tires). They told me they could do this on the phone. I told them I had modified the vehicle in a way similar to the TRD Pro, and I understood what I was asking was unusual, but should still apply - which they agreed to. The problem came when the tech refused to perform the modification if I didn't also allow them to remove the mud flaps. I was not experiencing rub on the mud flaps and had intended to address any possible rub (maybe at full extension) with a different workaround. This in no way impacts their ability to perform the TSB, they just refused to do it. And they would still have performed the TSB if I would allow them to remove my mud flaps - so their response here saying it only applies to 2023 models is a blatant misdirection and irrelevant since they were willing to perform that part of the service. Their response was disingenuous and intended to discredit, and I felt it was important to call that out. Badly done Beaverton Toyota. Badly done. Downgrading to 2 stars for that.
