My credit isn't the best, and as a single mom I really needed to be comfortable with what I was paying monthly. The salesman I worked with was Brent. He was awesome. He didn't show me anything I couldn't afford, and he kept my newborns safety in mind when showing me vehicles. They crunched numbers and with little down and a trade in, I was comfortable with the payments they told me I would be making! After going through paperwork with Glenn, he told me he got my payments EVEN LOWER! Lord bless that man. He's awesome! Everyone in this dealership is very friendly, professional and HONEST. They weren't trying to get me into something they knew I couldn't afford which saved my time and theirs. I will definitely recommend Kia Joliet!!! Thanks again guys! More

I am working on rebuilding my credit after some major difficulties in life and these people attempted to take advantage of me as it seems they do day in and day out, preying on the feelings of shame and hopelessness that come with credit struggles. Luckily for me, even though my credit is lower than average, my intelligence is not and I walked away from the "deal" (aka scam). I'll tell you my story... I went to carsdirect.com after reading about them on and online article regarding purchasing a car while rebuilding your credit. I filled out the online application and received an email stating that I had been partnered with World Kia Joliet (45 minutes from my house) as one of their dealers. Shortly thereafter I received a call from a "finance manager" at World Kia saying they have "Great News" and that I have been approved for a loan up to $39,000. Although this alone made me skeptical, I was excited and desperate, so I entertained the phone call. All seemed on the up and up, so I scheduled an appointment for that weekend to come in to look. I was directed to their website to start looking at vehicles, so I did and found a vehicle I was really interested in (a 2012 Kia Sorento with high mileage and a $10k sticker price). I forwarded this onto my sales associate and requested a test drive when I came in for my appointment this weekend. They said that was great and that they would have it ready for me on Saturday. That's when, as other reviewers have said, the bombardment of phone calls and texts began (all from different people at all hours of the day). This made me skeptical again, but still was considering keeping the appointment. Saturday morning came and I received three phone calls and two texts prior to my appointment time, so I decided to blow off the appointment. I had a bad feeling. Over the next week, the bombardment of phone calls and texts about taking advantage of their "No Money Down Program" continued, so I finally decided to return a call and press them about this so called "offer". I talked to a "Finance Manager", who happened to share my name and started to ask the hard questions: 1. "You have pulled my credit, right? You see my bankruptcy, etc?" She said yes, of course and then began to list off things in my credit report. 2. "And even after that, you have me approved up to $39,000 with no money down?" She said we sure do. 3. "I've got to be honest. I'm getting bombarded with calls and texts on a daily basis. This seems like a scam where you get me in the door and then try to manipulate me into a terrible loan and not for the car I want. You have me approved for the 2012 Sorento I want, right?" She said Yes, I do. When would you like to come in? 4. "Ok, well I want you to understand something. I will not be taken advantage of. I am a single father with custody of my daughter and work two jobs. Your dealership is 45 minutes from me. My time is very valuable and I do not have time to waste, so this better not be a scam." She says she understands and not to worry. You'll be driving home in less than an hour. So still skeptical, but satisfied with her reassurances, I make the appointment. I begin to actually get excited that I will be able to get out of the xxx I was driving and into something safer and more reliable that I can afford (I had already calculated the loan at a high interest rate). My appointment comes and I head out to Joliet. I get there and my salesperson is finishing up with a client so he sets me up with his "desk partner" (Jared, I believe). He's a really nice guy and actually seems to have a similar situation to my own regarding being single parents with custody of our kids. He starts going over information and I flat out tell him that he should already have this information, that I already have an approval, and am just here to test drive the 2012 Sorento and get on my way. He gives me some garbage about how he doesn't have access to my information and that he needs to update/verify it. Now, my anxiety level is starting to rise. He finished his input and asks me what I'm looking for and what kind of payment I'm looking to spend. Confused, I tell him that I am looking for a used SUV around $15,000, like the Sorento I am here to see and no more than $300/mth. He starts acting like that is an unreasonable request and how it's going to be hard to find an SUV in that range... Ummm, how about the Sorento I am here to see? Of course, he takes my license and gives it to their receptionist or whatever and now I know what's going on here. I'm not getting my license back until I walk out of here with a car, whether it's one I want or not. Next he tells me he's going to pull the car around and we can go for a test drive. I walk out to the car and it's a Sorento, but not the one I came for. Of course, there is no sticker on the car and no discussion of the price. It turns out the car is a 2015 Sorento in beautiful condition with all these nice bells and whistles. During the test drive, I joke with him that he's going to "make me fall in love with the car and then stick me with a ridiculous payment". He laughs and reassures me he won't. We get back to the dealership and he gets some paperwork from the receptionist and sits down with me. He starts talking jargon and I request to see the other Sorento as well. He starts on some garbage about how they are putting me in a special program where after a year they put me in a different vehicle and lower the payment because they don't want me to have to worry about choosing between maintenance of the vehicle and making the payment. I also ask whether they have looked at my trade in. He brushes off that question and asks if I would be able to put any money down. I tell him not really and I was told this was a "no money down" deal but I could probably scrounge up $500. He proceeds to show me the "worksheet" he's got for that 2015 Sorento. Then he gets to the payment and circles it... $550/mth for 72 months!!! My jaw drops and say that there is not a chance in xxxx I can do that. I politely start to raise my major concerns with their business practices and he ask what I could afford. I tell him that I already told him earlier, no more than $300/mth. He tells me he's going to counteroffer "the bank", as if I don't know by now that they are financing this. I decide to take a look around the lot and as he does that, I calculate they life of the loan... $39,600!!! He comes back and tells me they've got another vehicle they can get me in at $300/mth. I walk out with him and it's a 2016 Corolla Sedan. As I look in the car (not an SUV like I requested), I see the No Smoking stickers indicating this was a rental. I test drive it for the xxxx of it, but know that I am done with this place. The test drive finishes and even he can tell there is no chance of a sale, yet still asks. I tell him I'll have to think about it. He goes and gets my license back and I walk out the door, still in my xxx and having wasted over 2 hours of my valuable time. Please, I beg you anyone reading this. Do not fall prey to these bait and switch artists! Just because you have poor credit does not mean you deserve to be treated in this way and certainly does not mean that you have no options, as these people would like you to believe. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and I have spent 45 minutes writing this review in the hopes of protecting you and forcing these predators to think about changing their business practices. Please take this to heart! Oh, and that 2012 Sorento.... Never test drove it and didn't even see it on the lot... Shame on you, World Kia Joliet!!! More
