Disappointed I was considering buying a new car and stopped in. I found a great car and started discussing a purchase. Within 30 minutes, we'd gotten to a monthly note I could live with. I went into Amy's office for the paperwork, and things went downhill quickly. Amy asked me where I'd gotten the figures I worked with. I told her they were from Hyundai America's website, the build and price section. She then asked me what I Googled to get there. Amy needed my help to find her own employer's website. She then entered my credit rating as 700, despite it being over 800. Amy told me, "Banks treat everyone with a 700 or over the same," which is a lie. I proved her wrong via her own employer's website, and she gave me a deer-in-the-headlights look. She then started talking about Hyundai having great programs at 4.x and 6.x percent. At this point, I'd seen enough of Amy's ineptitude. She pushed a stack of papers across the desk for me to sign. I told Amy that I needed my keys and was going home. She asked why, and I told her. She then repeated it into her phone to the person getting my keys. I will also add that I had to repeat everything I said to Amy at least 3 times, despite being a Midwesterner and English-fluent. Amy's demonstrated lack of skills and knowledge for her job scared me so badly that there was no way I could sign the papers to purchase a car there. Within 10 minutes of getting home, the sales manager called, saying they found me an even better finance rate. I was too upset to talk to anyone at Hyundai, so I let it go to voicemail. On Monday, Amy called me, and I hung up on her--still shaken from my Weisner nightmare. I went to Weisner because I'd had a great experience there several years ago. The deal was done in 20-30 minutes, and I went home with a car I loved. I anticipated another nice, no-nonsense car purchase and felt horribly let down. I love the quality and looks of Hyundai vehicles, and would have been very proud to own the one I picked. However, the fear of potential financial issues haunting me outweighed my desire for the car. Amy lost Weisner two potential sales--mine and the relative I told them might also be interested in a Hyundai. I will be purchasing a Hyundai, but I'm now very wary of Weisner. More
